In terms of buzz, “Roppongi Class” (TV Asahi) is the most popular drama this season. It is a remake of the hit Korean drama “Itaewon Class. Viewership dropped to 7.0% in the third episode, but rose to 9.2% in the latest sixth episode, with double-digit figures in sight.
I witnessed its location shooting in Roppongi (Minato Ward) one morning. It was a scene starring Ryoma Takeuchi (29), Yuko Araki (28), and Yurina Hirate (21), the two heroines.
Takeuchi plays the hero who vows to avenge his father’s murder and runs a restaurant in Roppongi, while Hirate plays a waitress who has feelings for him and works with him. Shinki plays the role of the protagonist’s first love, but also works for a huge restaurant industry that the protagonist sees as an enemy” (TV magazine writer).
The scene being filmed was one in which Takeuchi and Hirate were happily conversing when Shinki, with a cool expression on her face, came in, talked with Takeuchi for a while, and then left with another cool expression on her face. Along with the hero’s thrilling revenge drama, the characters’ love stories are also worth watching.
