 On August 17, Aichi Prefectural Police Investigation Division 1 arrested Eiyuki Fukushima, a resident of Midori Ward, Nagoya City, on suspicion of manslaughter. Fukushima, who worked at Midoriseien, a special nursing home for the elderly, assaulted Ms. Mieko Kakutani, then 81, during a short stay in March of last year. He is suspected of causing her death.
 The incident occurred between late at night on March 5 and early morning on March 6. Fukushima was on night duty and was in charge of the third floor, where about 30 residents were staying, by himself. In response to the facility&#8217;s investigation, the suspect initially explained that he found Ms. Kakutani cowering in the bathroom in front of her private room at around 4:00 a.m. on the 6th. According to the suspect, Ms. Kakutani told him that her &#8216;legs and head hurt.
 At 7:30 a.m., a nurse at &#8220;Ryosei-en&#8221; noticed Mr. Kakutani&#8217;s pale face and internal bleeding in his lower body, and called 119. When she was taken to the hospital, she was conscious and able to speak, but in the evening of the 7th, her condition suddenly changed and she died of traumatic shock. He died of traumatic shock.

 Fukushima is a veteran employee who had been working at Midorisei-en since April 2008. As mentioned at the beginning of this article, he denied his involvement, saying in response to the facility&#8217;s investigation that &#8220;Ms. Kakutani may have fallen down. He voluntarily resigned in June of this year.
