Takehiro Kimoto&#8217;s &#8220;investment troubles&#8221; show no sign of abating. Sports Hochi reported today that Kimoto is expected to announce his resignation from his agency, Shochiku, due to the &#8220;600 million yen investment trouble. It also noted that this would be a de facto &#8220;retirement&#8221; from the entertainment industry.
In April 2009, &#8220;FRIDAY Digital&#8221; reported, &#8220;Apology and reconciliation&#8230;TKO to make a full comeback! I want to be in the King of Conte&#8221;&#8221; reported an article titled &#8220;I want to be in the King of Conte. This was in response to the fact that Kimoto and Kinoshita had been &#8220;insulated&#8221; for a while after Takayuki Kinoshita&#8217;s &#8220;power harassment&#8221; of a junior member in 1964. In response, Kinoshita told the magazine that he had apologized to Kimoto and spoke of his deep &#8220;love&#8221; for the duo. The following is a recounting of the incident.
 I felt that I was finally back to where I started when I was allowed to appear on &#8220;Laughing Don&#8217;t! To be honest, when I got the offer, I was really scared. I was worried about whether I would be able to do it because of what happened to Un-jash&#8217;s Takeru Watabe right before I got the offer.
 But if I left, I would have to go back to &#8230;&#8230; and tell everyone that I was OUT. More than anything, when &#8220;Downtown&#8221; laughed at me, I was relieved from the bottom of my heart. I thought, &#8220;I&#8217;m allowed to be laughed at, and now I&#8217;m free to go. After returning to the dressing room, I was so moved and relieved that I couldn&#8217;t move for a while. &#8230;&#8230;

Takayuki Kinoshita (49) of the comedy duo &#8220;TKO&#8221; said, his voice trembling. It has been a year and a half since he was involved in a power harassment scandal against a junior comedian. In January 2009, Kinoshita was reunited with Takehiro Kimoto (49), his partner, whom he had insulated himself from.
 First of all,&#8221; he said, &#8220;I apologized for the trouble I had caused you, even though it had nothing to do with you. Then Kimoto asked me, &#8216;What do you want to do? I told him, &#8216;I&#8217;ve come this far only because I was working with Kimoto. Even after the riot, you left the name of the duo behind, so I was able to continue on without rotting. I still love comedy, so I want to be on stage with you.
 I&#8217;m a contortionist too. Then let&#8217;s do it. You&#8217;re free and I&#8217;m at Shochiku Enterprises, so let&#8217;s set some rules and get on with it,&#8217; he said. I was really happy when I realized that even though I had caused him so much trouble, he had not abandoned me and was looking in the same direction. I have nothing but gratitude.
The two are already making preparations for their reunion.
 On the day we met again, we had a story meeting. We have been friends since we were 14 years old, but when there is a gap between us, we don&#8217;t get along. We slowly worked together on that. We haven&#8217;t decided on the stage for the revival yet, but I don&#8217;t care where they call us. But I&#8217;m keeping my engine running so that I&#8217;m ready to be invited anywhere.  It would be a wonderful story if I could participate in the &#8220;King of Conte. If I could, of course I would. It would be great if I could make it to the finals. There are so many strong rivals in the &#8220;7th Generation of Comedy&#8221; right now, so I think our challenge will be whether or not we can make material that has enough momentum and speed to compete with them.
 I would like to go back to the mindset of a young comedian and do my best. I guess the first step is to come up with a five-minute story. I&#8217;m not sure if I can do it or not (laughs).
(Laughs.) &#8220;I am starting over as a youngster, not as a veteran. Will he be able to crawl up to the top again?
