Riho Yoshioka said, “There were many days during filming when I wondered if the film would ever be completed, but thanks to the help of many people, it was completed without a hitch. I am filled with emotion.
This was the view of actress Riho Yoshioka at the completion announcement preview of the film “Shimamori no To (Tower of the Island Guard)” held in Tokyo on March 30.
Yoshioka appeared on stage with double stars Masato Hagiwara (50) and Jun Murakami (48), co-star Kyoko Kagawa (90), and director Takumi Igarashi. Yoshioka was dressed in a sophisticated black dress.
The film was scheduled to be shot in 2008, but was cancelled due to the COVID-19 crisis, and was rescheduled a year and eight months later. The film was reshot one year and eight months later.
Yoshioka recalls the time when the filming was cancelled, “After the cancellation, Director Igarashi contacted me and said, ‘I will make sure to finish filming. He said, ‘I will finish the film, so if you ever decide to resume filming, I would appreciate your help. I was shocked by his passion.
When I saw the finished film, I thought it had become a very meaningful work. I hope that the audience will understand that the film was made with that kind of passion.

In the last part of the stage greeting, when asked by the director to make an unscheduled comment, Yoshioka responded, “What? Is it me? I was so caught off guard…” The unexpected situation left Yoshioka flustered.
Hagiwara, who was standing next to him, asked him to “Tighten it up!
