Suspect Sei Tanaka: “Local Arrest” More Serious Than Arrest Nine Days After Sentencing
Former “KAT-TUN” member Sei Tanaka was arrested for the third time on June 29 for violation of the Stimulants Control Law. He was also arrested and charged with a violation of the same law in February of this year, and was sentenced to one year and eight months in prison with a three-year suspended sentence by the Nagoya District Court on June 20.
The public was shocked at the speed with which he was arrested again, nine days after the verdict, and at the time of his arrest in February, he posted an apology video on his YouTube channel, in which he apologized to his family, fans, friends, and colleagues.
He posted a video on his YouTube channel in February apologizing for his arrest, saying, “I feel I have done the worst thing I could have done to my family, my fans, my friends, and the people I care about the most. But now that he has turned to drugs again, he has shown us just how scary drugs can be.
The first arrest was in May 2005. His second arrest in February of this year was for possession of approximately 0.164 grams of methamphetamine at a hotel where he stayed while attending a music concert in Nagoya.
In his previous arrest, it is said that he did not properly discuss how he obtained the drugs. However, in the past, when a celebrity was arrested for drugs, Tanaka’s name surfaced in the vicinity of the arrest quite often.
In fact, he has been arrested in places such as Shibuya and Nagoya, where there are many live venues and clubs. This time, however, he was arrested in his hometown where he lives with his family. That is why the route of drug acquisition is attracting more attention,” said a person involved in a wide-ranging TV show.
In the past, Tanaka ran a restaurant in Nishiazabu, Minato-ku. In fact, “FRIDAY” reported the testimony of a person concerned that drugs were used at the restaurant.
After his arrest in February, even Tanaka has avoided going to places where drug transactions are rumored to have taken place. In fact, the main part of his life seemed to be spent at his parents’ house, but he still got involved in drugs.
The fact that he was arrested in his hometown may be a more serious problem for his rehabilitation than the fact that he was arrested again nine days after his sentencing.
Tanaka was arrested near Kashiwa Station in Chiba Prefecture, near his parents’ home. He resisted police questioning for four and a half hours, so perhaps his arrest in his hometown was unexpected.
Tanaka’s father, who took the stand at the trial, said, “We talked about how to work.
We discussed how we would work. The whole family will cooperate.
He vowed to support him. But just as he was about to do so, he was arrested again in his hometown, thus betraying even the most important family member.
