“A record number of 56 cars participated in the event. While the event was a great success, it was also a challenge. We took thorough precautions against infection, such as disinfecting with alcohol nearly 10 times a day to avoid inconveniencing our customers,” said Mr. Ota (far right).
We had about 40,000 visitors over the three days. Toyota Motor Corporation President Akio Toyoda (66) also participated in the event under the name MORIZO. He finished the race in a hydrogen-fueled Corolla.
Race queen Mami Ota, who participated for the second year in a row, also spoke of changes since last year.
She said, “I am most happy that the interaction with the fans has returned. I really enjoyed sharing our performance and the excitement of the race with more people.”
