On May 31, Takaoka held a press conference in Kyoto to announce his debut as a fighter.&#8217; This is an unexpected turnaround for a man who has been out of the limelight since announcing his retirement from acting in August 2008.
 He said, &#8220;I had been approached to do a film for more than half a year, but I had always turned it down. But when I thought about my age (40), I became attracted to the challenge of putting my energy forward while I was still physically able to do so. My son is also a big part of my life. I want to show my son how cool I am and have him think, &#8220;Dad, you are strong. About two months ago, I officially decided to compete, and I started training in earnest. Takaoka, who made his acting debut in 1999, has appeared in such films as &#8220;Patchugi! and &#8220;ROOKIES,&#8221; and has garnered attention as a promising young actor. &#8216; He married actress Aoi Miyazaki (36) in 2007, but they divorced in 2011, and he has been called a &#8220;disturbing actor&#8221; and a &#8220;bombshell&#8221; for his sudden criticism of Fuji TV on SNS and for his arrest in an assault case. He moved to Kyoto five years ago.

Currently, while managing the apparel brand &#8220;LAMPS,&#8221; he also launched a YouTube channel in June. In June, he opened a YouTube channel.
 I am not an exposé type of person (laughs). I&#8217;m just going to talk about how I&#8217;ve been living my life.
Takaoka will make his debut on June 12 at &#8220;KYOKEN 21,&#8221; to be held at the Sakai City Industrial Promotion Center in Osaka. Will he continue to work as a fighter?

 I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;ll be competing in a major organization after my debut. I am concentrating on the fight in front of me. I am looking forward to seeing what kind of results I can achieve.
So, will he ever return to show business?
 Unless the current entertainment industry, which is dominated by a few &#8220;old men,&#8221; changes, I don&#8217;t see a return to the entertainment industry. I will not return to a world that is all about profit and money-making. However, I may be able to carve out a new path for myself. I still love acting.
