Kyoko Koizumi and Boyfriend Spotted in their Theater Play, Is there a Possible Re-marriage for this Two Lovebirds?
Special Report: "A Moment of Splendor" - Kosuke Toyohara, the star's lover, performs on the stage he produces.
“Thank you! See you soon!”
Wearing bright red comfy pants and a T-shirt with the name of her company “The Day After Tomorrow” on it, actress Kyoko Koizumi, 56, waved to her business associates in casual attire. The play “Blue Sky is a Testament of Regret,” which she produced, is currently being performed at the Theater Tram (Setagaya-ku, Tokyo). Her boyfriend, actor Kosuke Toyohara (56), also appears in the play.
After the show, he went to performer Hikari Ishida (50) at the backstage entrance, greeted the people who accompanied him with a smile, and left the venue in his car.
Speaking of Koizumi, FRIDAY reported her affair with Toyohara in March ’15. Seven years have passed since then. In February 2018, she declared her independence from Burning Productions, to which she belonged. She and Toyohara jointly launched a company called “The Day After Tomorrow,” which produces stages and other productions, and they began to work together both publicly and privately. However, in ’19, they ended their cohabitation after a little over a year.
In March ’20, Toyohara and his ex-wife officially divorced, and in June he transferred to her the condominium worth 200 million yen that he had been living in. Perhaps feeling guilty about the affair or feeling sorry for his ex-wife and son, he became a single man, but even now, two years later, we have not heard anything about his remarriage to Koizumi.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of Kyonkyon’s career in show business. However, the scope of her work is said to be extremely limited compared to the past.
Koizumi-san has almost no connections with TV stations. Since leaving her former agency, she has hardly appeared in any locally broadcast TV dramas and has not done any TV commercials. From the point of view of commercial broadcasters, in recent years Koizumi is seen as a “theater person,” said Yusuke Hirata, former director of a production company.
Koizumi has left the world of television, which has been her main battlefield for many years, and her future work plans are mainly producing plays through “The Day After Tomorrow.” It is likely that she and Toyohara, who belongs to the company, will continue to work together both publicly and privately.
Toyohara and Koizumi left the theater separately that day. Perhaps out of concern for the staff at the theater, they rarely see each other at other workplaces. However, even at work, their cars are parked next to each other, giving us a glimpse of how well they get along. Toyohara and Koizumi are both 56 years old. They have found a good sense of distance and continue to nurture their relationship of love and trust as partners, unencumbered by the formality of marriage.
