Repeatedly beaten and left for 10 hours… Girl’s bar employee “horrific murder scene”.
A man enters a convenience store, his steps dizzy and sluggish. Standing in front of the restroom, he stared at the man who came out. When the startled man looked back at him, he chased after him and punched him in the face on the staircase landing. What are you looking at? and repeatedly assaulted him.
What led to the discovery of the incident was the security camera footage of the gruesome crime.
On May 26, Keiji Murata, 32, a restaurant employee with no fixed address, was re-arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Investigation Division 1 on suspicion of manslaughter. Shortly after 7:30 in the morning of May 18, Murata repeatedly beat Hisakazu Tanaka, 50, a temporary worker living in Kita-ku, Tokyo, inside a convenience store near JR Shimbashi Station in Tokyo. On the following day, May 19, he was arrested on suspicion of assault.
Mr. Tanaka received a strong blow to the head and suffered fractures around his eyes and nose. He was found dead at the hospital where he was taken. The cause of death was a brain hernia associated with acute subdural hematoma.
Sleeping soundly in the store after the assault

Murata’s assault on Ms. Tanaka was not limited to the convenience store. Security camera footage shows Murata forcibly taking Ms. Tanaka to a girls’ bar about 100 meters away where he worked. The gruesome crime continued at the girls’ bar.
Murata stated, “I had a problem with a man. ‘I got into trouble with a man. I took him to the restaurant where I work, but he was drunk, so I don’t know the cause of the trouble. However, it is clear that even at the girls’ bar, Ms. Tanaka was severely assaulted. Not only were the light fixtures broken and there were blood stains in the store. Tanaka’s teeth and a bottle of sake with blood stained on it were also found.
Furthermore, Murata was said to have fallen asleep in the restaurant after assaulting Ms. Tanaka. When he woke up, Mr. Tanaka was unconscious. Murata also stated, “When I woke up, I found a man lying on the floor. When I woke up, the man was limp. I thought it would be faster if I carried him to the hospital.
Murata transported Tanaka to Hiroo Hospital in Shibuya Ward in the car he was driving. More than 10 hours had already passed since the trouble at the convenience store. After leaving Ms. Tanaka in his care, Murata left the hospital.
The security camera footage immediately brought the Murata suspect to the forefront of the investigation. It seems that he had never met Ms. Tanaka. He had been drinking until morning with his friends who worked at a restaurant, and then he made false accusations against Mr. Tanaka and killed him.
Mr. Tanaka had a calm personality and had never caused any trouble at his temporary workplace. On the day of the incident, he was scheduled to assist at an on-the-job vaccination site. He probably stopped by a convenience store before meeting at Shimbashi Station at 8:00 AM.
The suspect, who was drunk, assaulted the stranger for a long time. He admitted to the charges, saying, “I definitely punched him in the face.
