Cherry Yoshitake holds 26 Guinness World Records, the most by any Japanese person. But why is he not as well known in Japan?

On May 2, comedian Cherry Yoshitake held a press conference at Yomiuri TV in Osaka to announce his “Guinness World Records.

Cherry left Wahaha Honpo, to which he had belonged for 19 years, at the end of March. This was her first public appearance since leaving the agency.

I want to shake off the red zone and show the people of Japan that I have done this overseas,” she said at the press conference.

I want to shake off the red zone and show the Japanese people that this is what I have done overseas,” she said at the press conference with maximum tension.

Speaking of Cherry, she broke the Guinness World Record for the first time for “most walnuts crushed with her butt in 30 seconds. Since then, she has broken a number of records, including “Most apples pulled out of water in 1 minute” and “Most boxer briefs worn in 30 seconds”, and she is now the Japanese record holder with 26. He is the holder of 26 Guinness World Records, the most by any Japanese person.

For five years from 2001, I appeared regularly on a children’s TV program on the BBC in the UK. It was filmed for a whole season, and I appeared as a representative of Japan.

I was representing Japan, the U.S. and the U.K., and the three of us were going to challenge the Guinness Book of Records. I hope people will think of me as more like Gachapin than as the “brother of gymnastics” (laughs).

That is why he is so well known in the United Kingdom. He says he has had some experiences that are unimaginable in Japan.

I once had a challenge at an elementary school in England, and more than 100 children showed up. Moreover, one of them was so excited that he vomited.

Not only in the U.K., but also in the U.S., he has received high acclaim. In 1919, “Newsweek Japan” selected him as one of the “100 Most Respected Japanese in the World. In 2009, she appeared on the popular U.S. audition program “America’s God’s Talent.

His original Guinness record of “cracking a walnut in 30 seconds” is one of the most popular overseas as well.

I heard that a school in New York City has included me in their textbooks,” he said. I heard that I was mentioned in a textbook at a school in New York, but I haven’t seen the actual textbook yet. So I don’t know what kind of educational intention there is (laughs).

In February of this year, he appeared on “Lo Show dei record,” a program broadcast in Italy that brought together Guinness World Records from all over the world. Although Cherry is active all over the world, his popularity in Japan is unfortunately not so good. He says, “It’s a problem that bothers me.

It’s a problem that bothers me. Is it simply that he is not interesting? My dream is to have reporters gather at Haneda Airport when I come back from the world and hold a triumphal return press conference like the one today. So, I would like to leave my mark overseas and sell my work as a reimportation.

He also has ambitions to become a comedy duo in 2006.

In 2006, he married Kumiko Shiratori of the comedy duo Tanpopo. Their first child, a girl, was born in August 2009. Cherry’s big dream is to

I would like to set a Guinness World Record for family activities. That is my dream. I really want my daughter to become a public servant or something, but I want to do it even if my wife is against it. But right now, if I talk about it, I’m afraid she’ll kick me out of the house…”

He revealed.

In 2008, he appeared in a TV program, “Newlyweds Welcome! (TV Asahi), a couple challenged the Guinness World Record of “How many kisses can a pair of couples give in one minute? (TV Asahi), they set a new Guinness World Record of 277 kisses. Shiratori is very supportive of Cherry’s Guinness World Record attempt, and when her children are grown, she is sure that the three of them will challenge the record together…

Cherry attempting the Guinness World Record for the trick of “Catching and breaking the most water balloons thrown in one minute with her mouth.
The challenge required a high level of skill in swallowing the water, but letting the broken balloons out of his mouth.
Although unofficial, he broke his own record of 20 balloons by a wide margin with 28 balloons. He was very enthusiastic, saying, “Next time, I want to break 30 balloons…”
