Maho Kuwako, Chiharu Saito and Yuki Yamazaki Transferred to New Shows

Kuwako is doing very well.

“Kuwako is in charge of the news program “Today’s Close-Up”. This is NHK’s signature program, which was previously anchored by Hiroko Kuniya. It used to be broadcast from 10:00 p.m., but the time has been changed to 7:30 p.m. in prime time, indicating NHK’s high expectations for the program.”

 

“At first, some were concerned about Kuwako’s many mistakes despite her charm, such as mistaking the “opening ceremony” for the “closing ceremony” of the Olympics. However, once the show started, Kuwako led the program brilliantly. Even though it was in a different time slot, she was able to boost the ratings of “Today’s Close-Up,” which were in the single digits before the reorganization, to the double digits. She also does a good job with narration and program progression, and I think the viewers feel comfortable watching her.”

A New Frontier from a Program with a Strong Character

Chiharu Saito, an analyst at TV Asahi, was transferred from “The Shinichi Hatori Morning Show” to “Morning”. Both are information programs broadcast in the morning, but the atmosphere is completely different.

“The ‘Morning Show’ has strong characters. Starting with Mr. Hatori, who is the general host, Toru Tamagawa, Kazushige Nagashima, Yoshizumi Ishihara, Chino Kikuma, and Mayu Yamaguchi. They all have their own opinions and are strong pushers.” 

 

“In her first year with the company, Saito was selected to be an assistant MC. At first, she seemed a bit confused, but she was not afraid to take on the challenge of Tamagawa-san and the others without hesitation. She was able to manage the program well. “Good Morning” has a very friendly atmosphere. Many of the performers, such as Elina Arai, Reiko Shiota, Shunichi Kawai, and Osamu Hayashi, are soft-spoken. Saito is also free from the pressure of the ‘morning show’ and is working freely.”

 

Fuji’s Yamazaki is in charge of “Pop Up”. She has gained popularity for her openness, such as sharing the inside story of her married life with her husband, Obata no Onīsan.

 

Even famous female TV announcers are members of their own organizations. They are always transferred from one position to another. However, these cheerful and active women show no signs of fading. Even in their new environment, they are showing their true selves without regret.
