Pearl Ozawa’s professionalism shown in “rehearsal for pouring green liquid on Shinbashi

On a weekday in March, I witnessed a bizarre scene on a street in Shinbashi, Minato-ku, Tokyo, where businessmen go to and fro. Actress Pearl Ozawa (45) was dousing a mannequin doll’s head with green liquid.

This was actually a scene at the location of the drama “Yangotte no Nakui Ichizoku” (Fuji Television Network), which started on April 21. The story is about the heroine, played by Tsuchiya Tao (27), who marries the son of a prominent family and confronts the ordeals of unreasonable upper-class manners and complicated human relationships. It seems that Ozawa is playing the role of “Ibiri” and is testing the scenes he is about to shoot.

In preparation for the scene, Ozawa is wearing a raincoat to protect his costume from getting dirty and repeatedly sprays smoothies on the mannequin. Each time, the speed and angle of the spray are discussed. Tsuchiya is standing by with an unhappy expression on her face. After the test, it was time for the real work. Ozawa, with great authority, pours a smoothie on Tsuchiya’s head. ……

The scene, which is as sloppy as a daytime drama, is based on very careful preparation.
