A Doctor Graduate of Tokyo University Graduate Doctor who graduated from Tokyo University Advises People not To Listen to Doctors to have a Happy Life!
What is the purpose of life? Don't "Leave Life to the Doctor"

I am sometimes asked by patients, “Which of these health practices is right?” They are all wrong, and I don’t need health information in the first place.
Dr. Koshiro Owaki, a doctor via a freelancer who graduated from the University of Tokyo, speaks calmly.
There is no right or wrong health information. I think the only ‘right’ thing to do is to reduce the amount of information, and to have as little information as possible.
Bookstores are lined with books on various “health” topics. On television, various “health” methods are introduced, and they are sometimes the subject of a popular discussion. However, he says that all of these methods are unnecessary.
For example, you often hear people say, ‘Boost your immune system.” But the mechanism of the immune system is incredibly complex, and there is no way that eating something or doing some exercises will ‘definitely boost’ the immune system. In this sense, it can be said that “immunity” does not exist. It is impossible to increase or decrease something that does not exist in the first place.
If anything, immunity means the ability to cure disease. But, the magic power to cure any disease is a lie, isn’t it?
As a doctor, I assure you. You can’t cure a disease if you can’t cure it, no matter how much money you spend. Trying to cure everything is an excessive expectation.
Most of the health information is, in fact, wrong.
What, then, should we believe in?
The human body is incredibly well designed. The stomach and intestines absorb nutrients extremely efficiently. There is ‘health information’ about cutting back on salt, but healthy kidneys are automatically regulated. The body detoxifies itself around the clock, so excess salt is properly eliminated. We don’t need to do this or that to live a healthy life.
However, these are not always healthy,
The human body has one more wonderful thing. We can feel what is wrong with us. If you get hurt, you feel pain; if you get poison, you feel fever; if you drink poison, you feel nauseous. We don’t need medical checkups because we can ‘feel’ in this way. Early detection is often called “early detection,” but its effect is negligible. It is only when you get sick that you need to take action.
There is no hesitation in Dr. Owaki’s words.
Most of the health information out there is bullshit,” he said. So how should we think about it?
First of all, people do not die so easily. Even if you don’t pay attention to anything in particular. Modern people living in Japan have a very favorable environment. Therefore, there is no need for individuals to be particularly careful any more.
Instead, we are much happier doing what we want to do now. Get along with your family and the people around you and live the life you want. They should define their own efficiency and live doing what they want to do, without thinking about the efficiency of putting their health first.
Medical care should be used only when I feel sick.
Recently, Dr. Owaki had his first child.
It was my first time raising a child, so there was a lot I didn’t know. So, at first, I looked at child-rearing books, checked the Internet, and sought information. I think it was the same as how ordinary people seek health information. But as it turned out, the information I found was generally wrong.
I read data from the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare, child-rearing books written by experts, and academic papers on the sources, and compared multiple theories, considering how reliable they were. And in the end, I came back to the conclusion that the information from public institutions is sufficient.
And I am raising my child on the basis of ‘as long as it doesn’t die.’ For example, I don’t need to sterilize baby bottles to give milk. Raising a child is really interesting. I am not happy to be involved with my child. I am glad I had paternity leave! I am very happy to be able to do this.
What I am looking for is happiness. It is not happiness to be swamped by useless information and to put up with delicious food, isn’t it? We don’t have to worry about salt, oil, or sugar. Beer is delicious on a hot day. Eat what you like and live happily. You decide what your priorities are and what your goals are.
In the two or so years since the “Corona Disaster,” countless people have died in hospitals without seeing their families. People suffering from domestic violence were sent to stay homes, and there was bullying and discrimination under the pretext of infection control.
I believe it is “happiness” that has been sacrificed to Japan’s extreme anti-Corona measures. I believe that we should cherish the smiles on people’s faces more than anything else.
