<p>Cocomi, the eldest daughter of national idols Takuya Kimura and Shizuka Kudo, has been creating a buzz after her music was featured on BBC Radio 3&#8217;s Essential Classics in the U.K. Cocomi was recently chosen to debut on the prestigious DECCA GOLD label in New York, and her debut album de l&#8217;amour&#8221; will be released on April 29.</p>

<p>Essential Classics&#8221; is a hard-hitting music program featuring veteran presenter Georgia Mann. On the program, &#8220;Sicilienne&#8221; from the album was introduced, and Cocomi&#8217;s name was also introduced. The song is one of the songs from the album, which is currently being previewed on YouTube and other sites in advance of the album&#8217;s release.</p>

<p>Incidentally, the album contains some of Cocomi&#8217;s favorite songs that she has a special place in her heart. In addition to Faure&#8217;s &#8220;Sicilienne,&#8221; the album also includes Massenet&#8217;s &#8220;Meditation de Thais,&#8221; Gounod&#8217;s &#8220;Ave Maria,&#8221; and other classical masterpieces. The album title &#8220;de l&#8217;amour&#8221; means &#8220;of love. Cocomi named it after the original poem of &#8220;L&#8217;amour de l&#8217;amour,&#8221; a song included in the album. All in all, Cocomi&#8217;s taste shines through in this album.</p>

<p>Cocomi started playing violin at the age of 3 and flute at 11. she participated in the All Japan Student Music Competition in 2018 and won the highest prize at the Japan Music Competition the following year, as well as the All Japan Student Music Competition. She is currently studying flute at Toho Gakuen School of Music, where she studies with Hiroaki Kanda, principal flutist of the NHK Symphony Orchestra. Last March, she received an offer from composer/pianist Chad Lawson to participate in a global campaign to commemorate World Sleep Day, and played the flute in the campaign song &#8220;STAY. He has attracted worldwide attention.</p>
<p>In this context, Cocomi is also emerging in modeling and other entertainment activities, and in 2020 she will become Dior&#8217;s Japan ambassador. And in 2021, she will make her voice acting debut in the animated film &#8220;Fishing Port Nekko-chan.</p>
<p>In Japan, all the attention is focused on her close relationship with her sister Koki, but it seems that she is beginning to be recognized as a flutist in the world.</p>
