Fans rejoice at Cocomi’s “impressive debut on a prestigious U.S. label!

Fans are rejoicing after it was announced that Cocomi, the eldest daughter of national idols Takuya Kimura and Shizuka Kudo, will make her debut on the prestigious DECCA GOLD label in New York, USA. Her debut album “de l’amour” will be released on April 29.

The album contains songs that Cocomi has feelings for and likes. The album includes such classical masterpieces as Massenet’s “Meditation de Thais,” Fauré’s “Sicilienne,” and Gounod’s “Ave Maria. The album title “de l’amour” means “of love. Cocomi named it after the original poem of “L’amour de l’amour,” a song included in the album. All in all, Cocomi’s taste shines through in this album.

Cocomi started playing violin at the age of 3 and flute at 11. she participated in the All Japan Student Music Competition in 2018 and won the highest prize at the Japan Music Competition the following year, as well as the All Japan Student Music Competition. She is currently studying flute at Toho Gakuen School of Music, where she studies with Hiroaki Kanda, principal flutist of the NHK Symphony Orchestra.

Last March, she received an offer from composer/pianist Chad Lawson to participate in a global campaign to commemorate World Sleep Day and played the flute in the campaign song “STAY.

Cocomi has also emerged as a model and other performing artist, becoming Dior’s Japan ambassador in 2020 and making her voice acting debut last year in the animated film “Fishing Port Nekko-chan” in 2021. She is expanding her range of activities.
