Suzu Hirose’s “forehead fully open under the cold weather” gave off an overwhelming aura.
News in the field FRIDAY Eyewitness! Harikomi24 <Atsugi, Japan, 10:45 a.m.
One cold morning in February. The area near an apartment complex in Atsugi City (Kanagawa Prefecture) was crowded with staff and security guards. It appeared to be a fairly large scale filming. A large crowd was gathered on the bank along the river.
In the circle was a small-faced woman with her hair in a bun, wearing an orange parka and a long, brightly-checked skirt. She is actress Suzu Hirose (23).
On this particular day, we were filming a new movie. It is based on the popular manga of the same name and is scheduled to be released next year.
After finishing her make-up, Hirose received two cardboard boxes of props from a staff member. When the camera rolls, she walks slowly along the riverside carrying the cardboard boxes with a heavy weight. When the cut is made, Hirose leaves the cardboard boxes with the staff, puts on a mask, and puts on a down coat with a body warmer attached to the inside. During the standby, she twirled around on the spot, perhaps to keep her body warm.
This film requires acting that expresses a character’s state of mind while keeping emotions in check, so Hirose’s growth will be seen.
