Alina Zagitova has been silent on her Instagram account since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. She recently made headlines when she suddenly resumed that Instagram account, and now fans are relieved to see a photo of her chewing with her dog, Masaru.

Zagitova, who won gold in women’s figure skating at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, is an influencer with 1.13 million followers. She is also known as a pro-Japan person and has many Japanese fans. She participated in the Beijing Olympics held last month as a reporter and uploaded daily updates on the event, so when she stopped posting, her fans were upset.

In the first post after the resumption of her career, she posted a photo of herself in a black sleeveless dress. She said, “In times like these, it’s important to cheer up those we care about, even if just a little. Let’s make. Today a bright and kind day together. May you overcome any difficulties with patience, strength, and wisdom. Please continue to give your warmth and light to those around you, “he also added the message.

The next post was a photo of her with her dog Masaru. Zagitova uploaded three photos. All of them show Zagitova and Masaru sitting on the floor, surrounded by colorful tulips and roses.

Zagitova is said to be pro-Japanese, and the Akita Inu Preservation Society donated a female Akita dog to her after she fell in love with an Akita dog during her stay in Japan before the PyeongChang Olympics, where she won the gold medal. She was named “Masaru” (meaning “victory”). With Masaru, Zagitova visited the Japanese Ambassador to Russia and his wife in January this year, and reported on her Instagram that they had a friendly chat.

In the midst of all this, one wonders what Zagitova thinks of Japan’s designation by Russia as an unfriendly country. Looking at this peaceful photo, I sincerely hope that the war will end soon.
