Maria Sharapova, former world number one in women&#8217;s tennis, is known as the &#8220;Tennis Fairy. She is also known as an influencer with an astounding 4.22 million followers on Instagram.
She is a social networker, but since Russia&#8217;s invasion of Ukraine, she has avoided speaking out about her home country on social networking sites. She temporarily closed the comments section of her Instagram, which is usually filled with messages from her fans. This upset her fans, and some expressed concern.
Finally, Sharapova opened up about the issue.

 With each passing day, I see more and more images and read more and more news about the children affected by the growing crisis in Ukraine. I am heartbroken and deeply saddened. I am donating to the Crisis Relief Fund of Save the Children, an organization that provides food, water, and assistance kits to those in need. I encourage everyone to make a donation as well. I pray for peace and send love and support to all.&#8221;
Sharapova was concerned about the current situation and prayed for peace. To this she replied, &#8220;I&#8217;ve been waiting for you to come!&#8221; At last!&#8221; Some fans who had been waiting for the event commented, &#8220;I think it&#8217;s a very good thing,&#8221; and &#8220;I donated, too,&#8221; while others praised her actions.
On the other hand, there were also some harsh comments. Sharapova&#8217;s choice to use the word &#8220;crises&#8221; instead of the word &#8220;war&#8221; was greeted with comments such as, &#8220;It&#8217;s not a crisis!
