“I’m so happy to be back in the Godzilla franchise”
A woman with long black hair flowing behind her as she gracefully walks the red carpet, revealing her luminous white décolletage. She is actor Masami Nagasawa (39).
The Japan premiere of “Godzilla Minus Zero” (directed by Takashi Yamazaki, 62), scheduled to open on November 3, was held in Ginza, Tokyo, on October 19. The venue was a disused section of an expressway. The cast walked an 83-meter-long red carpet laid out for the invited audience.
“An impressive lineup of actors appeared one after another, including lead actor Ryunosuke Kamiki (33), Minami Hamabe (26), Yuki Yamada (36) and Kuranosuke Sasaki (58). Nagasawa was the sixth to appear, but she received the loudest cheers,” says a sports newspaper reporter.
Nagasawa was also starring in “Love at This Point,” which was selected for the competition section of the 31st Busan International Film Festival held in October. She had been scheduled to attend the festival but was forced to cancel after contracting influenza, raising concerns about her health.
On this occasion, Nagasawa wore a simple, unadorned gray dress. Even so, the audience couldn’t take their eyes off her exposed décolletage and beautiful legs peeking through the slit. Around her neck, she wore several layers of long pearl necklaces, each appearing to consist of around ten strands, creating an image of glamorous, sophisticated womanhood.
Hamabe, meanwhile, wore a predominantly black jacket that revealed very little skin, paired with a skirt featuring a striking pattern. Her look conveyed the understated elegance of a mature woman. When the two stood side by side, voices could be heard from the crowd saying, “This is unreal. They’re both so beautiful,” and “Their incredibly fair skin is dazzling.”
“This is the 31st installment in the series and is set two years after the fierce battle depicted in the 2023 film ‘Godzilla Minus One,’ which plunged Japan into an even worse state of devastation immediately after the end of the war. Hamabe returns from the previous film, once again playing Noriko, the wife of Koichi Shikishima, portrayed by lead actor Kamiki. Nagasawa, meanwhile, is appearing in the Godzilla franchise for the first time in 22 years, since ‘Godzilla: Final Wars,’ released in 2004,” says a film magazine writer.
Nagasawa plays Makoto Aoyama, a brilliant weather forecaster seconded from the meteorological observatory to the Large-Scale Disaster Response Office.
About an hour and a half earlier, a stage greeting had been held before the screening at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya. Appearing in the same outfit, Nagasawa said:
“I’m so happy that I’ve been able to return to the Godzilla franchise like this.”
Speaking about her return after 22 years, she added:
“Since Makoto Aoyama is a new character, I was really anxious and wondered what kind of mindset I should bring to the set. But the director [Yamazaki] told me, ‘Precisely because she’s a character from Minus Zero, it’s good for her to feel out of place.’ So I thought I’d try to live as Aoyama. Yes.”
