Ryoji Miyama Holds a BBQ Event, Putting Aside “Marital Issues” with His Wife, Shuri—What’s the Story on His “Relationship with the Mizutani Family”?

Exclusively for fan club members,
he seems to be carrying on as usual, doing things at his own pace.
In July, Ryoki Miyama (27) was reported to be involved in an “alleged affair” with former Takarazuka Revue actress Maria Hanano (34). His wife is actress Shuri (36), and his father is actor Yutaka Mizutani (74), while his mother is Ran Ito (age undisclosed).
The July-season TV drama *Great Airport: GATE 24*, starring Shuri, aired its final episode on September 17. While some observers believe this marks the end of her marriage to Miyama, there has been no word on the matter as of now. A sports newspaper entertainment reporter told this site,
“There’s no doubt that Shuri is considering divorce. However, a divorce cannot be finalized unless her spouse agrees. In that regard, it remains questionable whether Miyama is seriously addressing their marital issues,”
the reporter noted.
A glance at Miyama’s social media shows he is leading a fulfilling life, with no hint of the recent allegations.
In addition to fashion snaps, he has posted announcements such as one for a music event he will appear at on October 19. He is most active in his fan club business, offering the “Basic Community Plan” for 1,500 yen per month and the “Premium Family Plan” for 8,000 yen per month.
According to her official website, a fan club members-only barbecue (BBQ) event is scheduled for November 8 in Tokyo. Tickets are priced at 35,000 yen for junior high school students and older, 15,000 yen for elementary school students, and 5,000 yen for preschoolers (all prices include tax).
For Miyama, this fan interaction event has been a long-cherished dream, and there are reportedly plans to present Premium members with a limited-edition copy of his first album—set for release in November—on the day of the event.
“While the ticket prices are on the high side, I hear they’ve secured a fairly large venue, and Miyama himself is feeling confident. Even when scandals are reported, his fans just shrug and say, ‘He did it again,’ without getting too worked up. They love and support Ryoki Miyama strictly as an artist. I suppose that kind of environment makes him feel right at home,” said a music industry source.
Perhaps one could say he’s developed such “resilience” that scandals no longer feel like scandals…

Led by her mother, Ran Ito,
The sports newspaper reporter mentioned at the beginning said,
“Ms. Miyama is the type to prioritize ‘fun things.’ I haven’t heard any reports that a meeting has been arranged with Shuri’s side since the series of allegations surfaced,”
It’s not that Miyama himself is opposed to divorcing Shuri; rather, it seems he’s in a mindset where, rather than devoting his energy to various tedious legal procedures, he’d rather focus on his supportive fans for now.
Shuri, for her part, isn’t taking a pessimistic view of life without her husband either. In the October 16 issue of *Josei Seven Plus*, it was reported that in early October, Shuri went out with her parents, bringing along her child, who was born last September. The family reportedly visited a well-known Tokyo chiropractic clinic specializing in qigong treatments, where they refreshed both body and mind. They were seen chatting happily together, and there was even a moment when Mizutani smiled fondly at his grandchild’s growth.
“When Shuri was working, her mother, Ms. Ito, apparently took the lead in looking after the child. She and Mr. Miyama had been living apart even before the rumors surfaced. It might be impossible for them to get back together now,”
said a television industry source.
As is customary every year, the Mizutani family has decided not to schedule work over the New Year’s holiday so they can spend time together as a family. Although Miyama was reportedly there last year, it seems highly unlikely he’ll be joining them this year.
“There’s talk that Shuri will star in Fuji TV’s ‘Monday 9 p.m. drama’ next January. Mizutani is also scheduled to film the new season of ‘Aibou’ through February of next year. Ms. Ito is actively holding live concerts, and everyone is riding a wave of success. There’s simply no room for Mr. Miyama to fit in there,”
said a source at an entertainment agency familiar with Mizutani. When will this issue with Miyama finally be resolved?
