Striking a hand pose while being transported after her arrest

Rino Tazawa (27), known as “Yamatorino”—a former top performer at the famous Roppongi nightclub “Jungle Tokyo” and an active social media influencer—has been re-arrested on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Control Law by using cocaine and ketamine.

On September 15, Tazawa was arrested along with her boyfriend, Kota Fukumoto (28), for possession of 0.4 grams of cocaine at her apartment in Minato Ward, Tokyo. Twenty-one packets believed to contain cocaine were found in Tazawa’s room.Subsequently, a test of the suspect’s urine came back positive for ketamine in addition to cocaine.

While being transported after her arrest, Tazawa made a gesture resembling a hand sign using her right thumb, index finger, and middle finger. The following day, when she was sent to the prosecutor’s office, she stuck out her tongue and winked…

Although he showed absolutely no sign of remorse, according to a crime reporter for a national newspaper,

“she is reportedly responding to questioning in a matter-of-fact manner. Moving from a high-rise apartment to a detention center is truly like going from heaven to hell. Her smartphone has been confiscated, and she isn’t allowed to wear makeup. Regarding whether she admits or denies the charges for which she was re-arrested, she has stated, ‘I want to speak with my lawyer,’”

As for the provocative poses in question,

“I was mentally unstable at the time,”

, it is reported.

What’s concerning is her “dual use” of cocaine and ketamine. A source familiar with the Roppongi scene revealed in a hushed tone:

“I think she uses different drugs depending on the situation. Ketamine is the type that gives you a so-called euphoric high—it makes you feel lightheaded. Cocaine, on the other hand, stimulates the mind, so you can stay alert even without sleep.”

Cocaine, in particular, is said to have a “motion sickness remedy” effect. The same source explains,

“Top-tier hostesses can’t get completely drunk in front of customers. That said, when high-end champagne is served, they have to drink it with high energy. In those situations, they step away from the table, go to the restroom, and do some cocaine. As a result, they don’t get drunk, their mind stays sharp, and their conversation flows smoothly. In fact, they sometimes talk nonstop, which can even come across as creepy… I’ve heard that senior hostesses sometimes secretly slip this to their juniors behind the scenes, saying, ‘If you start to lose it from the alcohol, just take this.’”

she reveals.

Are Anti-Social Forces Behind This?

Once you try it, the sense of guilt fades, and before you know it, you’re living a life completely immersed in drugs. A former bouncer in Roppongi said,

“Since the COVID-19 crisis ended, it feels like ketamine and cocaine have spread like wildfire. You can spot the suspicious ones because their gaze doesn’t match what they’re saying. I think Roppongi is the neighborhood where you can make the most money in Japan, but the turnover is intense. Some girls get messed up on drugs and just disappear,”

he revealed.

Based on a series of news reports, it appears that suspect Tazawa was a habitual user. When asked about her source of supply,

“I got the drugs from my boyfriend. I don’t know where he got them from, and I didn’t ask,”

. Suspect Fukumoto, on the other hand, is reportedly repeating vague statements.

“No investigator believes Tazawa’s statement.“Authorities are aware that cocaine and ketamine are rampant in the nightlife district, and they had been targeting Tazawa for some time, viewing her as being at the ‘center’ of it all. They finally made their move now. It has been confirmed that she had interactions not only with her boyfriend, Fukumoto, but also with multiple other men. Naturally, they believe antisocial forces are behind this,” said a former police officer.

Suspect Tazawa, who has been re-arrested, is highly likely to be indicted on charges of possession and use. Whether she will be granted bail afterward remains uncertain. We await the day when the full details of the case are revealed—
