You’d Never Guess She’s “Almost 50”… Yuriko Ishida Shows Off a Blue Shirt Tied Around Her Waist After Finishing Filming a Drama in Which She Stars

Emerging from an alley right next to the shrine was actress Yuriko Ishida (56).

On this day, filming for the drama series starring Ishida was taking place at a shop nearby.

“It’s ‘My Sweet Home’ (airing and streaming on WOWOW), which premieres on October 31. The series is an original work by screenwriter Keiwa Okada, who previously worked on the ‘Second-to-Last Love’ series (Fuji TV) and ‘In This Corner of the World’ (TBS).Ishida plays the lead role of Haruka Uehara, a full-time housewife. Following a certain incident, she embarks on an adventure where she and others in their late 50s swap partners to experience each other’s lives—it’s an ensemble drama in which these adults reexamine their lives,” said a television magazine writer.

In the teaser visual released to coincide with the production announcement, Ishida—as Haruka—is shown wearing a red knit sweater and a beige apron, gazing at the sunlight streaming into a kitchen adorned with a beautiful floral arrangement.

The day’s shoot focused on a scene where her character shops at a fish market. Wearing a white shirt and a beige skirt, Ishida leaned against a guardrail, watching the proceedings with a serene expression while the crew prepared for the shoot.

The shoot ended quickly, and when she emerged from the waiting area after changing into her street clothes, she was wearing wide-leg blue jeans with the hem of a blue shirt—worn over a white T-shirt, as described at the beginning—tucked into her waist.Whether it was her casual look—walking briskly while wearing round glasses—or the teaser visuals, she exuded such a radiant aura that it was hard to believe she was in her “late 30s.”

Regarding her current state of mind ahead of her appearance in the drama, Ishida commented:

Regarding Haruka, the character she plays, she added,

“I truly empathize with Haruka’s feelings—her ability to cherish her own life, and no one else’s, from the bottom of her heart” (ibid.)
