The Corona disaster has had a tremendous impact on various industries, including the restaurant industry, but some college student prostitutes have benefited from it.

 I am making a lot of money because my college classes are now online,&#8221; said one.
Minami (a pseudonym), a sophomore at a well-known private university in Tokyo, says this.
 I take all my university classes online. My university is very lenient, so I can get credits as long as I watch the classes and submit the assignments by a certain date. Sometimes I have to watch a class for 13 hours straight (laughs), but I take the class in two days out of a week and work hard in the sex industry for the next five days.

Minami says she started working in a brothel because she wanted money to play with. She currently works at a soapland in Kabukicho, and sometimes takes online classes from her private room at the soap.
 When there are no customers coming in and I&#8217;m not busy, I set up my room while watching the class on my phone,&#8221; she said. We have Wi-Fi in our store. But I once took an interactive class on ZOOM from my room, and while I was unmuting it, my work phone rang. Since then, I try not to take classes that I have to attend as well (laughs). Online is seriously god because I don&#8217;t have to cut back on my sex work. Definitely, my income is higher than before Corona. To begin with, why do we need to have face-to-face classes now with 200-300 people in them?&#8221;
Minami is still the most common place to take classes &#8220;in Tokyo,&#8221; and some female college student prostitutes even go out to the countryside to &#8220;migrate&#8221; to other areas. Ayumi (pseudonym), a third-year college student who worked at a delicatessen in Kabukicho before Corona, told us, &#8220;Before Corona, I worked at a delicatessen in Kabukicho.
 After I became a &#8220;Corona disaster,&#8221; I&#8217;ve been making most of my money in the local area. I go for a week, take a day or two off, and then fly right back to the next region. I&#8217;ve been to all kinds of places, from Hokkaido to Okinawa.
Dekasegi&#8221; in the sex industry is a way of working that has taken root over the past several years. In the case of &#8220;enrolled&#8221; workers, who commute from their homes and come to work on their favorite days, the salary depends on a commission system, in other words, on how many customers they have. On the other hand, &#8220;dekigarigi-workers&#8221; receive a &#8220;guarantee. Even if you don&#8217;t get any customers, you will receive a minimum salary based on your hours.
The advantage of being able to calculate their earnings is appealing, and recently the number of sex workers who live only as dekasegi without having a registered sex worker has been increasing. Ayumi is one of those who took the opportunity to switch her work schedule to migrant work when her university classes went online.
 She says, &#8220;I work like a nomad worker, going sightseeing on my days off. It&#8217;s fun to enjoy the local delicacies of the various regions and see the local character of the prefecture through the customers. The best thing about being a dekasegi is that you don&#8217;t have to spend a lot of money at the same time. I don&#8217;t go to host clubs or anything like that, so I can accumulate savings. Another advantage is that I don&#8217;t have to go to the store to work.
 With dekasegi, I can just change my clothes, put on makeup, and wait at the dorm or hotel, and a car will pick me up downstairs when work comes in. I use the time I&#8217;m not at work for online college classes and assignments. As you can imagine, classes after serving customers all day can be tiring (laughs).&#8221;
The Corona Disaster has made it possible for college students to spend their college life anywhere as long as they have an Internet connection, which has drastically changed the way female college student prostitutes earn money. However, this situation will not last forever.
Several universities have already announced that starting this spring, classes will be held on a face-to-face basis. College student sex workers, who are living tough through the Corona disaster, have voiced their dissatisfaction, saying, &#8220;I really can&#8217;t make any more money than I do now.
