Nicole Kidman (59) is drawing attention after opening up in the September issue of British *VOGUE* about her marriage to Tom Cruise (64) 35 years ago.

“Suddenly, at 22 or 23, I had a husband who was a major movie star. But it felt completely natural. We just fell madly in love. It was as simple as that,”

said Kidman. Although those around her opposed her marriage to a top Hollywood star, saying it would “have a major impact on her career,” Kidman said

“How could I not marry the person I love? I’d be happy to give up my career,”

She admitted that she prioritized her relationship with Cruise over her own career.

“Kidman and Cruise co-starred in the 1990 film *Days of Thunder*, which led to a romantic relationship, and they married a year later on Christmas Eve 1990.
