[Scoop] Sara Minami Spotted Holding Hands With a Younger Artist at Takanawa’s New Landmark

The new landmark that opened last year in Takanawa, Tokyo, under the theme of “Creating a future of enriched lives 100 years from now,” was bustling with young people and families despite it being a weekday. Amid the commotion, a couple was spotted inside a massive cosmetics store carrying around 450 brands, including Dior and Yves Saint Laurent.

A beautiful woman was intently browsing body creams and perfumes, while a handsome man casually placed an arm around her waist and escorted her. Their date looked so natural that no one around them seemed to notice that the woman was none other than popular actress Sara Minami (24), who has been in high demand for both TV dramas and films.

Minami began her entertainment career in 2014 as an exclusive model for the fashion magazine nicola. In 2017, she made her acting debut in the film “We Are Little Zombies.”

“The following year, in 2018, Minami suddenly landed her first starring role in the film ‘Shino Can’t Say Her Own Name.’ She brilliantly portrayed the challenging role of a high school girl with a stutter, winning the Blue Ribbon Award for Best Newcomer and the Japan Movie Critics Award for Best New Actress. She established herself as one of the most talented young actresses in the industry,” said an entertainment reporter for a sports newspaper.

She subsequently appeared in one high-profile production after another, including the 2021 Sunday drama “Dragon Zakuraon” TBS and NHK’s historical drama “The 13 Lords of the Shogun.” Her career was advancing at such a remarkable pace that she eventually came to be known as the “Second Gakki,” after her agency senior Yui Aragaki (38).

After leaving the cosmetics store, the two headed to a lifestyle goods shop selling apparel made from recycled materials as well as organic skincare products.

“What struck me was how the man picked up clothes and told Minami things like, ‘I’d like you to wear something like this.’ They were holding hands and looked really sweet together,” said a customer who happened to be there.

After browsing the store for a while, the two disappeared toward another floor lined with numerous apparel shops.
