[Exclusive] Haruna Kawaguchi Announces Marriage & Pregnancy! Another Woman Stars in the Action Scenes of Her New Movie… Her “Happy, Rounded” Appearance
During a scene involving vigorous movement, another woman…
“We, Ko Itakura and Haruna Kawaguchi, would like to announce that we have gotten married.”
On August 2, actress Haruna Kawaguchi (31) updated her social media to jointly announce her marriage to Ko Itakura (29), a defender for the Japanese national soccer team who plays for AFC Ajax in the Netherlands. Furthermore,
“We are also expecting a baby. We hope to spend each day peacefully, praying for a safe delivery,”
Kawaguchi also revealed that she is pregnant.
“Regarding the couple, ‘Bunshun Online’ broke the news of their relationship on July 18. According to the article, their relationship began last year, and it appears Kawaguchi had traveled to the Netherlands on multiple occasions. There had also been speculation about their marriage,” said a sports newspaper reporter.
In the movie *Even If Mom Is No Longer in This World*, scheduled for release on October 2, Kawaguchi plays the lead character, who has been given a terminal diagnosis of Stage IV colon cancer. In the film, she appears drastically thinner, and while there were reports expressing concern about her health, it seems she was quietly nurturing her love abroad during this time.
Kawaguchi is reportedly pregnant now, but what will happen to her acting career…?
In late July, *Friday* spotted Kawaguchi at a park near the coast in Chiba City. It was a sunny summer day from the morning onward, with a high of 32 degrees. Humidity hovered around 80%, making it muggy and stifling.
“What was taking place that day was the filming of a new movie starring Ms. Kawaguchi. She was preparing for the shoot on a pedestrian bridge spanning the park, surrounded by a large crew. She was wearing loose-fitting clothes, her makeup looked completely different, and she seemed a bit fuller-figured—at first, I didn’t even realize it was her. But after watching for a while, I recognized her and wondered if she’d changed her appearance to get into character,” said a local resident who witnessed the shoot.
After the briefing, filming began and was proceeding smoothly, but there was a scene that caught my attention partway through.
“A woman with the exact same hairstyle and outfit as Ms. Kawaguchi appeared. When they started filming a scene with some pretty intense movement, that woman was the one performing it. I thought she might be a stand-in for rehearsals, but she might have actually performed in the final take as well,” said the same resident.
Meanwhile, after the World Cup ended, Itakura returned to the Netherlands—home of Ajax, the club he currently plays for—and rejoined the team. However, international media have reported that he may be leaving the club, and a transfer to a Saudi Arabian club is also a possibility.
Even so, on social media,
“We want to support each other and build a home filled with constant smiles,”
Given that the two of them made this announcement, there’s no doubt they’ll build a happy home together, no matter how far apart they are or where they may be.
