They made a grand entrance in off-the-shoulder tops and miniskirts! Shibuya was in an uproar at the “NiziU” new album event

“Ayaka-chaaan!” “Miihi-chaaan! You’re so cute!”

Shrieks of excitement echoed through Shibuya’s bustling downtown area. On July 2, the nine-member girl group “NiziU” held an event at a Shibuya CD store to celebrate the release of their new album.

“This year marks our fifth anniversary, and we held our first dome tour in three and a half years. We successfully completed the tour, culminating with the final show at Tokyo Dome on June 14. According to official figures, we drew a total of 125,000 attendees over the four days. On July 1, NiziU’s best-of album *Portfolio* was released, and this event was held to celebrate that.The event took place at three major stores: ‘SHIBUYA TSUTAYA’ starting at 5:00 PM, ‘HMV&BOOKS SHIBUYA’ at 6:00 PM, and ‘Tower Records Shibuya’ at 7:00 PM. Since the event had been announced in advance, fans who couldn’t get into the venues gathered on Center Street. Their number easily exceeded 500. When the members appeared, a huge cheer erupted, and the scene became chaotic.

Although it was drizzling that day, since the three stores are all located close to Shibuya Station, fans followed the group as they moved between venues by minibus. The members responded to these fans with constant smiles.

What surprised fans even more were the members’ outfits. All of them wore revealing outfits reminiscent of stage costumes, unashamedly showing off their beautiful skin and legs. RIKU (23), with her short blonde hair, wore an off-the-shoulder white top paired with a beige miniskirt.Walking right behind her was RIMA (22) in a pure white sleeveless top and mini skirt. MIIHI (21) wore a pink sleeveless top paired with a black mini skirt.

On the same day, “NiziU” updated their official website, posting messages along with commemorative photos taken at each of the three locations.

They expressed their gratitude to the members of “WithU,” the NiziU fan club. Sales of the best-of album are currently strong.In the “Top Albums Sales” chart of *Billboard JAPAN* released on July 9 (calculation period: June 29–July 5, ’26), the album took the No. 1 spot overall based on metrics including CD sales, downloads, and streaming.Even looking solely at CD sales, they ranked second with 103,814 copies sold.

NiziU has now firmly established its status as a girl group. We can’t wait to see what they do next.
