<h3>More than 60,000 spectators—the largest attendance ever—were captivated!</h3>
Filled with enough excitement to dispel the light rain, the third round of the Super Taikyu Series, the NAPAC Fuji 24-Hour Race (June 5–7), was held at Fuji Speedway. This year&#8217;s event drew a record-breaking crowd of 64,900 spectators, all eager to experience Japan&#8217;s only all-night race.
Adding color to the fiercely contested event were more than 100 beautiful race ambassadors who had gathered from all over the country. Before the race, fans flocked to the pit walk for a glimpse of them.
One ambassador who attracted a particularly large crowd was the popular Nanase Takahashi, who boasts more than 250,000 followers on Instagram. Dressed in a vivid white-and-red costume, she smiled and struck a pose whenever a camera was pointed in her direction.
One noticeable trend was that many of the ambassadors wore some kind of accessory, whether it was a headband, a character-themed pouch, or another item that reflected their personal tastes.
&#8220;The term race ambassador was officially introduced in Super GT, Japan&#8217;s premier racing series, two years ago, and that change also influenced the costumes. Compared with the more revealing outfits of the past, there has been an increase in designs that emphasize cuteness and approachability.
Idol-inspired and school-uniform-inspired outfits have become the norm, and more ambassadors are using accessories such as headbands and hats to help distinguish themselves,&#8221; explained automotive lifestyle journalist Kumiko Kato.
There also seemed to be an increase in cosplay-inspired outfits. Teams dressed as characters from &#8220;Neon Genesis Evangelion&#8221; and ambassadors wearing oiran-inspired costumes drew large numbers of fans.
Even though their outfits have changed, the dazzling smiles that captivate their fans remain exactly the same.
