Tolsova was born in 2004 in Ryazan, Russia. Born to a taekwondo athlete father and a track and field athlete mother, she began figure skating in 2008 and won the 2018 World Junior Championships in free skating with a successful quadruple toe loop and quadruple salkow.

She has been called one of the “Three Daughters of Genius”: Alexandra Trusova, who jumps several types of triple jumps; Alyona Kostrnaya, who boasts high expression and a triple axel; and Anna Scherbakova, whose quad and stability are her weapons. Tolsova has attracted attention not only for her ability, but also for her too-beautiful appearance.

In the midst of all this, at the Beijing Games, Trusova challenged a superhuman composition of five quadruple jumps and set a new personal best. However, she could not match the gold medalist Scherbakova, who finished in second place.

Trusova sobbed in the hall as she fell one step short of the gold medal. However, she later regained her composure and told a press conference that she was satisfied with her five quadruple jumps. In her introduction on Instagram, she proudly announced that she is a silver medalist.
