Junichi Komoto Spotted Holding Hands With New Girlfriend as She Supports His Comeback

She had a bit of a wild vibe

One afternoon in early June, on a bustling shopping street in Tokyo packed with families and young people, a man dressed in a navy coordinated outfit and a Los Angeles Dodgers cap immediately caught the attention of local residents.

“It wasn’t just his outfit. What surprised me most was seeing Jicho Kacho’s Junichi Kawamoto (51) walking around so openly without sunglasses or a face mask. And beside him was a beautiful woman. She reminded me of TV personality Sarina Suzuki (48)—she had a bit of a wild vibe. She was wearing a long-sleeved Adidas T-shirt, a New York Yankees cap, and black-rimmed glasses.”

In February last year, Kawamoto announced he would be taking a break from work due to health issues. That June, he revealed that the reason for his hiatus was panic disorder and depression. After a four-month absence, he returned to work at the end of June. However, this April it was reported that he had divorced his wife of more than 20 years, meaning both his personal and professional life had continued to present challenges.

On this day, Kawamoto and the woman enjoyed a quiet meal together at a casual Chinese restaurant near the shopping street. So who is the woman openly enjoying a daytime date with him?

“She’s an ordinary woman in her Tokyo residence whom we’ll call Ms. A. They met after Kawamoto’s divorce, and I hear they waited until his personal affairs had settled before beginning a relationship. On their days off, they spend time together at her home and have been enjoying a peaceful life. Ms. A intends to support Kawamoto both emotionally and physically as he rebuilds his life after becoming single,” said an acquaintance of Kawamoto.

In response to FRIDAY’s inquiry, a spokesperson for Yoshimoto Kogyo, Kawamoto’s agency, confirmed the relationship, saying:

“It is true that they are dating.”
