<h2>Are negotiations continuing behind the scenes?</h2>
A surprising piece of information has emerged.
Japan’s largest international music awards event, MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026 (MAJ), will hold its Grand Ceremony on June 13, where winners of the six major categories and other awards will be announced. However, rumors are circulating that Mrs. GREEN APPLE may make a surprise appearance.
The Grand Ceremony has already announced performances by 11 nominated artists for Best Artist, including Fujii Kaze, HANA, and Kenshi Yonezu (35). All participating artists have been officially revealed by MAJ (with Chanminawithdrawing due to treatment for hypothyroidism). Yet despite winning the inaugural Best Artist award at last year’s MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN and being nominated again this year, Mrs. GREEN APPLE’s name was absent from the performer lineup.
Mrs. GREEN APPLE themselves held “Mrs. GREEN APPLE presents ‘CEREMONY’” at K Arena Yokohama on June 10 and 11. Since the group is hosting its own music festival, fans have been expressing concern on social media:
“Is Mrs. GREEN APPLE really not performing at MAJ this year?”
“Maybe they’re conserving their energy because of CEREMONY?”
“It’s kind of surprising that Mrs. GREEN APPLE isn’t there.”

However, according to a senior executive at a record company, the MAJ organizing committee is still negotiating behind the scenes with Mrs. GREEN APPLE’s management regarding an appearance.

When inquiries were sent to Project-MGA, the management company representing Mrs. GREEN APPLE, no response was received by the deadline.
The company has previously responded to media inquiries, even regarding members’ dating scandals. What does this silence mean?
The answer, it seems, will come on the 13th.
