<h2>Perfect chemistry as co-leads</h2>
<p data-start="39" data-end="293">A young woman with long hair dyed brown with blonde highlights stands still on a sidewalk, wearing a troubled expression. She is actress Mei Hata (24). Behind her, a large crew holding cameras, lighting equipment, and microphones watches her performance.</p>
<p data-start="295" data-end="451">In mid-April, filming for the currently airing drama &#8220;Error&#8221; (ABC TV / TV Asahi network) was taking place in a residential neighborhood in Chiba Prefecture.</p>
<p data-start="453" data-end="1030"><strong>“The drama, which began airing on April 12, is an original story written by screenwriter Sakiko Yajū. Hata plays Yume Nakata, a woman who becomes overwhelmed with guilt after accidentally causing another woman’s death. The other lead is Mio Ōsako, played by Mirai Shida (32), the daughter of the deceased woman, who is driven to despair as she cannot accept her mother’s death. The two women, unaware of each other’s identities and their connection to the incident, meet by chance and gradually develop a friendship. It is a human drama,”</strong> explains a television magazine writer.</p>
<p data-start="1032" data-end="1341">After filming the opening scene, Shida arrived on set. Wearing a yellow cardigan and wide denim pants, she stood facing Hata. Shida also remained motionless, her expression filled with tension. During the scene where the two stare intensely at each other, the set was filled with a constant, palpable tension.</p>
<p data-start="1343" data-end="1622">In the April 26 broadcast episode, a scene depicted Mio (played by Shida) being approached by the daughter of a man who had fallen into a coma as a result of being caught up in her mother’s fatal fall, and being told, “I have a proposal—how about you pay me 1 million yen, lady?”</p>
<p data-start="1624" data-end="1766">This led to reactions on social media such as: “Is this the era where Shida is now being called lady!?” and “That feels a bit shocking lol.”</p>
<p data-start="1768" data-end="1936">Shida has appeared in five consecutive TV dramas since last spring. In the January season, she also delivered a strong performance as a mother in &#8220;My Future Son&#8221; (TBS).</p>
<p data-start="1938" data-end="2101">Before filming, Shida commented on the official website:<br>
<strong>“I haven’t really played a role like this before, so I feel both nervous and excited about the challenge.”</strong></p>
<p data-start="2103" data-end="2199">Meanwhile, this drama marks Hata’s first lead role in a prime-time terrestrial television drama.</p>
<p data-start="2201" data-end="2279"><strong>“I think this will be a work where I can show a new side of myself,”</strong> she said.</p>
<p data-start="2281" data-end="2403">Regarding each other, Shida said:<br>
<strong>“Hata has very strong eyes, so I’ll do my best not to get nervous when acting with her.”</strong></p>
<p data-start="2405" data-end="2570">Hata, in turn, said about Shida:<br>
<strong>“We once appeared together on a radio show, and I remember we spoke quite casually at the time. She was very kind, funny, and warm.”</strong></p>
<p data-start="2572" data-end="2726" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node="">Both emphasized their good chemistry, and the drama’s intense performances are attracting attention. Viewers are eager to see how the story develops next.</p>
