<p> The former high school teacher, who was arrested for molesting three high school girls, tearfully regretted not being able to attend the graduation ceremony during her trial.</p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> On December 11, &#8217;25, the Urayasu Police Station of the Chiba Prefectural Police arrested Yuma Hayata, a teacher at Chiba Girls&#8217; High School (age 29 at the time of his arrest) on suspicion of non-consensual indecent assault. He is suspected of touching a high school student, Ms. A, in her underwear at around 9:00 p.m. on the night before the 10th.</span></p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> A female passenger called 110 when Ms. A asked for help, leading to her arrest.</span><span class="strongInContent"> At the time of his arrest, Hayata denied the charges, saying that he had not committed any indecent acts.</span></p>

<p> Although Hayata denied the charges, subsequent investigations uncovered a string of other crimes. The social media reporter continued, &#8220;The Urayasu Police Department was notified on January 6.</p>

The family of Ms. B reported that their daughter was touched on the bus, and Hayata was identified from the drive recorder and other information.</span></p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> On January 27, he was re-arrested by the Chiba Chuo Police Department on suspicion of indecent assault. On August 20, 2013, at around 7:00 a.m., he allegedly sat next to a high school girl, Ms. C, who was sleeping on the train, and touched her body by putting his hand inside her clothes. Hayata denied both charges, saying he &#8216;doesn&#8217;t remember.</span></p>

<p> Hayata, who is accused of indecent assault against three high school girls, admitted the crime <span class="strongInContent">, saying, &#8220;There is no doubt about it.</span> As for his denial at the time of his arrest, <span class="strongInContent">saying &#8220;I didn&#8217;t do it&#8221; and &#8220;I don&#8217;t remember,&#8221;</span> he explained as follows</p>

<p> He said that because it had been three to four months since his arrest, some of his memories of the crimes against Mr. B and Mr. C had been lost, but he was able to recall some of them by watching the drive recorder and other video footage.</p>

<p><span class="strongInContent"> I have worked at the school for five years and have never done anything like that to the students. I myself have never had any sexual interest in minors or high school girls. I can assure you of that.</span></p>
<p> At the time of the crime, Hayata was teaching a class for a colleague who was on parental leave and was also the homeroom teacher for the third grade, so she was extremely busy with career counseling and interview practice, and was in a state of overwork.</p>

<p> On the other hand, the defense counsel stated that <span class="strongInContent">&#8220;</span> the <span class="strongInContent">defendant has deepened his remorse and is actively working to prevent recidivism by attending a program to prevent recurrence of sexual assault,&#8221;</span> and therefore, <span class="strongInContent">&#8220;we ask for a suspended sentence.</span></p>

<p> He apologized to the victims and their families, and expressed remorse for betraying the trust of his colleagues and students at work.
