<p> On April 16, the Kyoto Prefectural Police arrested Yuki Adachi, 37, a company employee and Yūki Adachi&#8217;s foster father, on suspicion of abandoning the body of Yūki Adachi, 11, a sixth grader, in a mountain in Sonobe, Nantan City, Kyoto Prefecture.</p>

<p><span class="strongInContent"> The Adachi family&#8217;s home in Sonobe-cho was shared by four generations: Yuki, his mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The suspect also lived there. Yuki became the son-in-law of the Adachi family.</span></p>

<p><span class="strongInContent"> On March 23, Yuki&#8217;s whereabouts were unknown until his schoolbag was found on March 29, and his shoes were found on April 12. Then, on the 13th, Yūki&#8217;s body was found in the mountains about 2 km away from the elementary school. The suspect Yūki admitted the charge to the interrogation, saying, &#8220;There is no doubt that I did it,&#8221; and he also made a statement to the effect that he &#8220;strangled and killed him.</span></p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> On April 18, a forensic examiner went to a public restroom near the suspect&#8217;s home. It is believed that the suspect may have temporarily abandoned Yuki in this restroom. The prefectural police are continuing their investigation, believing that the suspect had moved Yuki from one place to another in addition to the forest where Yuki&#8217;s body was found.</span></p>
