Tom Cruise and Meg Ryan Romance Rumors Shock the U.S. After 40 Years

Just last October, he had broken up
Tom Cruise (63) is now being linked to a new romance.
The partner in question is said to be Hollywood heavyweight actress Meg Ryan (64), who previously co-starred with him in “Top Gun” (1986), which has surprised many.
There are even reports calling her his fated person, and whether this relationship will come to fruition is attracting strong attention across the United States.
As for Cruise, he had been repeatedly seen dating Ana de Armas (37) since February last year, with marriage rumors even suggesting they were on the verge of tying the knot. However, that relationship suddenly ended, with their breakup reported in October last year. Just six months later, rumors of a new woman have already surfaced—typical of Cruise’s enduring star power.
According to sources, Cruise has been quietly drawing closer to his long-time friend Meg Ryan. Friends are reportedly encouraging him, suggesting that he may finally have found true love with someone who can share his past, values, and life experiences. This was reported by the U.S. outlet “Radar Online.”
Friends say Cruise is focusing on finding a partner who understands the pressures of fame and has no questionable motives. One source told the site:
“They have known each other for a long time and communicate naturally, trust each other, and don’t feel the need to pretend or impress. Emotionally, they are highly compatible.”
A Hollywood insider told this site:
“Cruise and Ryan first gained attention when they co-starred in the 1986 film ‘Top Gun,’ and both went on to become leading figures in Hollywood. They also share the common experience of having turbulent private lives. Ryan is known to support the Democratic Party, while Cruise, although he does not publicly comment on politics, is rumored to keep his distance from Donald Trump—for example, he reportedly declined an offer of the Kennedy Center Honors, an award promoted by Trump, citing scheduling conflicts.”
The insider added that these factors suggest strong compatibility between the two.
The helicopter date is drawing attention
Cruise has experienced marriage and divorce with Mimi Rogers (1987–1990), Nicole Kidman (1990–2001), and Katie Holmes (2006–2012). He also dated Penélope Cruz, his co-star in “Vanilla Sky” (2001), and was said to be on the verge of marriage, but they broke up in 2004. Last year, he also split with Ana de Armas.
Meanwhile, Ryan married actor Dennis Quaid in 1991 and had a son with him, but in 2000 she became embroiled in an affair scandal with Russell Crowe, her co-star in “Proof of Life,” and divorced Quaid in 2001. Around 2010 she began dating singer-songwriter John Mellencamp, got engaged in 2018, but they broke up in 2019.
Against this backdrop, the U.S. site “Closer” reported:
“Cruise has not given up on love yet. And an unexpected relationship with Meg Ryan may change everything. Friends are convinced she is the one destined for Tom.”
The same source also said:
“Both of them have had quite a bit of romantic misfortune in recent years, but they hold respect and admiration for each other.”
Cruise’s upcoming film “DIGGER” is set for release in October. It is a high-profile project marking his first collaboration with director Alejandro Iñárritu, who won the Academy Award for Best Director two years in a row for “Birdman” (2014) and “The Revenant” (2015).
Ryan, meanwhile, is also active in her career, with Netflix’s romantic comedy “Good Sex”, co-starring Natalie Portman and Rashida Jones, scheduled for release later this year.
As for Cruise, as with Ana de Armas, he is known for taking his romantic partners on helicopter sightseeing flights that he personally pilots. If Ryan were ever to board Cruise’s helicopter, it would surely signal a definitive red light for romance.
Still, the idea of a Cruise–Ryan romance emerging nearly 40 years after their co-starring role in “Top Gun” feels like something straight out of a film. While it may seem doubtful, in Hollywood anything unexpected can happen. Given their turbulent romantic histories, many would be curious to see whether this mature couple might finally come together.
All eyes are on the future of this potential new romance between two of Hollywood’s biggest stars.
