The GPIF (Pension Fund Investment Management Inc.) manages Japan’s employee pension and national pension funds. Under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the GPIF invests mainly in domestic bonds, foreign bonds, domestic stocks, and foreign stocks, and is responsible for stabilizing the future finances of the pension system.
