Weathercaster’s Gravure Debut is a Hot Topic

Haruka Imai (Sakura, 27), a popular weathercaster belonging to Weathermap, updated her instagram on April 7. The phrase “It makes me kind of happy to see that the cherry blossoms are still just barely there” and the image of Imai posing cutely in a pink knit and white skirt drew about 8,000 likes.

Imai worked for an apparel company after graduating from Rikkyo University, but left to become a weather forecaster.’ She passed the exam in 2010 and registered as a weather forecaster in October.” Since 2011, she has been working on “Good! Morning” (TV Asahi) as a weathercaster.

Last year, she also tried her hand at gravure, appearing in the center pages of Weekly Young Jump (published by Shueisha) and Weekly Young Magazine, and her outstanding style, interesting expressions, and innocent smile have attracted attention on social networking sites.

On SNS, she reports on her recent activities with photos, and on March 30, Imai’s birthday, she posted a message of gratitude to those around her and her aspirations for the future.
