Just as exciting here too! “Taiwan cheerleaders” Lin Xiang & Xiao Ying captivate at the WBC in tight uniforms.

A flood of fans waiting for them to come out

The Taiwanese team made a big splash at the WBC Tokyo Round. Although they unfortunately failed to advance past the first round, they greatly captivated the crowd at the Tokyo Dome.

At the same time, the ones who stirred up a frenzy were the Taiwanese cheerleaders. For this tournament, a total of 12 cheerleaders—two from each of the six teams in Taiwan’s professional baseball league, the CPBL—came to Japan. At the Taiwan vs. Czech Republic game on March 7, more than 40,000 spectators filled the stadium, and among them were many fans who had come specifically to catch a glimpse of the cheerleaders. Before the game, they performed a dance to the popular Japanese idol group “CANDY TUNE” song “Bai Bai FIGHT!”, energizing the entire venue.

“Among them, the one who stood out the most was undoubtedly Lin Xiang (28). She enjoys idol-like popularity not only in Taiwan but also in Japan, with over 1.8 million Instagram followers. On March 6, sports newspapers featured her prominently, drawing significant attention,” said a sports journalist.

During the game, she appeared in her signature tight uniform and cat ears, performing a cat dance alongside Xiao Ying (28), who is also very popular in Japan. Their sexy yet cute performance kept the excitement going until the end of the game. Taiwan defeated the Czech Republic 14–0, keeping their hopes of advancing to the final round alive.

After the game, a large number of fans gathered near the staff exit hoping to catch a glimpse of them. However, no matter how long they waited, the cheerleaders did not appear. After some time, a staff member announced, “The cheerleaders have exited from a different location.” The fans sighed in disappointment and began to leave, though around 100 of them stayed, holding on to a slim hope.

Then, after quite some time had passed, Lin Xiang and Xiao Ying suddenly appeared from the staff exit, carrying suitcases and escorted by staff. The fans who had waited rushed toward them and waved. The two looked briefly surprised but responded with smiles and waves to the fans who had waited so long for them.

Along with the Taiwanese team, which narrowly missed advancing past the first round, the cheerleaders left Japan. On March 11, Lin Xiang updated her SNS, posting photos and videos of their cheerleading during their stay in Japan and wrote:

“Thank you for the passion and emotion the Taiwanese team brought us. The feelings of shouting together, feeling nervous, and believing will surely remain in our hearts forever.”

The passion and excitement the Taiwanese cheerleaders delivered to the audience were just as powerful. Having enlivened the WBC Tokyo Dome Round, their return to Japan is already eagerly anticipated.
