Ryota Miyadate (center in the photo), affectionately nicknamed “Tate-sama” by fans, is a biweekly Tuesday regular on “Ravit!” and has gained popularity for his unique royal character.

Tate-sama Reported in Overnight Romance

On February 25, news site “Josei Seven Plus” reported an overnight romance between “Snow Man”’s Ryota Miyadate (32) and Nippon TV announcer Miyu Kuroda (27).

Miyadate is known for his princely demeanor and is affectionately called “Tate-sama,” with his prince-like character firmly established. Following the romance report, fans appear to be quite disheartened.

The “Josei Seven” (Shogakukan) reporting team caught sight of Kuroda leaving her home in the early morning to head to Nippon TV in Shiodome, Tokyo. According to the article distributed on February 25 by “Josei Seven Plus,” the two have grown close since last year and reportedly began meeting privately at each other’s homes.

Regarding her relationship with Kuroda, Miyadate’s agency, “STARTO ENTERTAINMENT,” commented, “She is just one of his friends.”

The February 26 issue of “Josei Seven” provided detailed coverage of how Miyadate and Kuroda met and reported on their visits to each other’s homes. Multiple photos were also published in “Josei Seven Plus,” and Snow Man fans have taken particular notice of Kuroda’s casual wear.

“Judging from the private photos on the site, she appears to favor the French luxury brand CELINE for coats and bags. Since CELINE is known as a brand Miyadate often wears in private, some fans on social media have speculated that he may have gifted her items from his favorite brand.

Although there are no two-shot photos in this article, and the agency maintains she is just a friend, fans are disappointed and questioning whether this is a relationship where luxury items are exchanged,”

Risk of Fan Fallout

Miyadate, known for his prince-like character, often excites fans during concerts with phrases like “I’ll hold you.” However, following the recent report, fans have expressed disappointment:

〈He’s marketed himself as a kingly, royal, elegant type and what I used to think was wonderful! instantly turned into lame after the love report.〉

〈Fans spend money on their favorite, and when you think that it might be going toward gifts for his girlfriend instead, it feels empty.〉

〈Is Miyadate the type who wants to buy anything for the girl he likes? What did he mean when he told fans, “I’ll hold you”? What kind of mindset will he have going forward playing the royal character?〉

〈From now on, even if he says things like “I’ll hold you” or “Shall we love each other?” at live shows, I don’t think anyone will get excited, right?〉

Such reactions suggest that a loss of fans may be inevitable.

“Recently, Miyadate had been speaking in Kansai dialect more often on radio programs, which many fans attributed to the influence of fellow Snow Man member Koji Mukai (31), from Nara Prefecture. With this report revealing that his partner, Kuroda, is from Hyogo, some fans said, ‘Ah, that makes sense now,'” explained the same source.

Amid this, Snow Man’s official X (formerly Twitter) posted on the 26th: the theme song for Miyadate’s April drama “Tāminētā to Koishichattara” (TV Asahi) will be Snow Man’s new song “SAVE YOUR HEART.”

The drama is a sci-fi romantic comedy in which Miyadate plays a handsome android from 400 years in the future. While many fans rejoiced at the news, those already disheartened by the “Josei Seven Plus” report expressed:

〈Announcing the drama’s theme song at this timing is just way too bad.〉

〈Having the theme song announced at a timing when I can’t feel any joy at all makes me feel really conflicted.〉

〈I was planning to watch the drama but how can I watch a romance drama with such complicated feelings!?〉

Currently, Snow Man enjoys popularity on par with national groups like “SMAP” and “Arashi.” The question now is whether Miyadate’s romance report will negatively impact Snow Man’s future activities.
