<p> It has been six and a half years since the mysterious death of a wealthy man with deep connections to the political and business worlds of the United States and Europe. The investigation documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice are now causing a stir around the world.</p>
<p> Jeffrey Epstein (66 years old) was arrested for sex trafficking of underage girls and committed suicide at a facility where he was detained in 1919.</p>
<p> The &#8220;Epstein Document,&#8221; an investigative file on his case, was additionally released to the public in January of this year, which triggered the uproar. A local media reporter explains.</p>

<p><span class="strongInContent"> The documents contain three million pages of information about Epstein&#8217;s sexual abuse and pimping of women, including more than 250 minors, on the island he owned and other locations. In addition to 3 million pages of documents, images and video materials can be found in the public file. It also includes e-mail records showing Epstein&#8217;s associations with prominent figures.</span></p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> Among them were names such as U.S. President Donald Trump &#8217;79 and &#8220;Microsoft&#8221; founder Bill Gates &#8217;70. He had been friends with President Trump since the 1980s and even rode on Epstein&#8217;s private jet. The emergence of the close relationship between a prominent political and business tycoon and Mr. Epstein has garnered a great deal of attention.&#8221;</span></p>
<p> Following the release of the documents, the bigwigs have resigned from their key positions or been taken into custody by the authorities one after another.</p>

<p><span class="strongInContent"> Kathryn Rummler, 54, chief legal officer of Goldman Sachs, a major U.S. investment bank, was found to have received luxury bags and other items from Epstein. She announced her resignation in June of this year.</span></p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> Lawrence Summers, 71, who served as Secretary of the Treasury in Bill Clinton&#8217;s administration, was found to have been friends for more than 20 years and had exchanged e-mails with Epstein until the day before his last arrest. Mr. Summers resigned as a director of OpenAI, an American tech company, as of last November when the relationship was discovered,&#8221; he said.</span></p>
<p> On February 19, former Prince Andrew, 66, brother of the King of England, was arrested for leaking confidential government information to Epstein, and on February 23, Peter Mandelson, 72, former British ambassador to the United States, was arrested for leaking confidential information to Epstein.</p>

<h3>Resignation and arrest dominoes could occur.</h3>
<p> Mr. Epstein&#8217;s broad and thick tentacles had reached Japan.</p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> It is Joichi Ito, 59, who served as director of the MIT Media Lab. Mr. Ito has denied any involvement in the case itself, but it is clear that he had received large sums of money from Mr. Epstein in the past for his personal fund. It is said that his name appears 10,000 times in the documents&#8221;.</span></p>
<p> Contacts with Japanese nationals other than Mr. Ito are also becoming clear.</p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> By February 24, Dai Matsumoto, 62, chairman of the board of directors of Monex Group, a major securities firm, disclosed that he had met with Epstein in the past. He denied any involvement in the sexual abuse, saying, &#8216;I had nothing to be ashamed of.</span></p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> Other leading Japanese giants, including developers and electronics manufacturers with operations throughout Japan, have also been involved in business relationships with Mr. Epstein. The breadth of Mr. Epstein&#8217;s personal connections is immeasurable. There are probably many more Japanese celebrities who have not disclosed their business relationships.</span></p>

<p> The Epstein affair has developed into a major scandal involving the entire world. Following the release of the Epstein documents, an investigative document released by the U.S. Department of Justice, there has been a series of resignations and arrests of major figures. Japan is no exception.
