Kamen Rider Heroine Kaho Takada Says Role Taught Her the Value of Giving Everything
We interviewed a number of actors from the past series!
“Kaho Takada” as Misora Isurugi in Kamen Rider Build
“I heard there were up to five rounds of auditions, but I passed after the third round. At the time, I was so happy that I later asked the producer why they chose me, and they said, ‘You were the only one with dead eyes that made it impossible to tell what you were thinking.’ Whatever the reason, I realized that leaving a memorable impression is important (laughs).
Misora Isurugi is everyone’s idol ‘Mi-tan,’ the Queen of Mars, Bernadette, and also just a girl who wanted to live an ordinary life. At the time, I think I faced this role as best I could, even though I was inexperienced. Every day reminded me of my shortcomings, and I often felt frustrated. I wondered what I could do, but eventually realized that a production isn’t made by one person alone—it’s a team effort. Looking back, maybe I could have leaned on others a little more.
Though there were many tough moments, the experience of throwing myself into it has become my treasure. Even now, Kamen Rider Build gives me courage. When I lack confidence, thinking back on it helps me take a deep breath—it’s been a kind of talisman for me all this time.”
Kaho Takada, 29, from Tokyo.
