I was told that there were up to the fifth round of auditions, but I was accepted after the third round. I was quite happy about that at the time, so I later asked the producer why he chose me, but he said, “Because I was the only one with dead eyes that didn’t know what I was thinking. Whatever the reason, I thought it was important to be memorable (laughs).

Misora Ishidou was everyone’s idol ″Mitan″ and Queen Bernadette of Mars, a girl who wanted to live a very normal life. At the time, I think I was facing this role with immaturity. Every day I was reminded of my lack of ability, and I was always frustrated. I was worried about what I could do, but that was not the case. As I went through the activities, I learned that a work is not something you make alone, but something you make together, and I wondered if I should have relied on everyone a little more.

Looking back, there are many stories of how hard it was, but I treasure the experience of being able to work so hard, and “Masked Rider Build” still gives me courage. Whenever I remember it, I can take a deep breath and it is like a talisman for me.
