I used to be skinny. ……

Hello, everyone. This is Hidehiko Ishizuka, whose windows fog up as soon as he gets into a cab due to the gap between his body temperature and the outside temperature this time of year.

This time, I would like to write about the “135 kg wall.

When I was a high school student, I was a member of the judo club and competed in the 62 kg weight class, but by the time I retired and the graduation ceremony came around, I had rapidly grown to 80 kg. I learned firsthand how important exercise is.

Later, after joining the Himawari Theater Company, I joined Watanabe Productions (now Watanabe Entertainment), but at the same time I started working part-time at a steak restaurant and kept my weight at 80 kg.

When I formed the duo “Honjamaka” in 1989, my partner Toshiaki Megumi (61) was also a little overweight, so we were called the “big fat little fat Honjamaka. At that time, the public’s reaction to me was little more than “You’re big!

However, around the age of 34, when I started working independently as a “food reporter,” the needle on the scale started at 0 and stopped at 0. 100 kg, my triple-digit debut.

I don’t know why, but when I weighed between 97 and 98 kg, I was frustrated because my weight kept increasing and decreasing, and I couldn’t quite reach 100 kg. Once I crossed the 100 kg threshold, however, the weight just kept increasing, and I remember that it took me less than a year to go from 100 kg to 110 kg.

When I weighed 80 kg, people’s reaction was “You’re so big!

The “short sleeve T & overalls” style is established

Maybe it is just me, but there are several walls in the stages of gaining weight. In my case, after 100 kg, the next wall was 120 kg.

Up to this point, I was gaining weight faster than Marimo on Lake Akan was growing. However, once I reached 120 kg, I reached a plateau, and there was a period of about a year during which I neither gained nor lost weight. Now that I think about it, perhaps God was giving me time to think, “Ishizuka-kun, are you going to open the next door?” I think God may have given me time to think, “Ishizuka-kun, are you going to open the next door?

By the way, people’s reaction to my 120kg weight was “Wow! I was big,” then, “You are fat,” and finally, “Wow, you look great. It is similar to the way that fish in the Kansai region change their names from “hamachi” to “mejiro” or “yellowtail”.

I cross the 120 kg barrier without hearing God’s restraint. It was around that time that my short-sleeved T-shirt and overalls style was established. It was more than established, but this style was most suitable for food repor ting.

If you have a big belly, regular pants will slip right off. It is just like a watermelon that cannot be tied with a single string. With overalls, no matter how much you eat, you don’t have to loosen the belt on your pants. Or rather, there is no belt. They hold on with both shoulders, so they never fall down. There are many pockets, so you can even put snacks you receive on location in your pockets.

Later, after I had been on location all over Japan, God asked me again: the 135 kg barrier. 135 kg era, I was just sitting in a quiz show, but I couldn’t stop sweating. My sneakers were too wide across and the butterfly in my bowknot was abnormally small. Just looking at the stairs made me sigh, and when I moved my body, a “beeping” sound came from somewhere.

People who had been saying, “You’re so big,” “You’re so fat,” “You’re so amazing,” finally began to worry, “Are you okay?” They started to worry about me. At that moment, I decided to touch the 135 kg wall and turn back.
