In the hallway of his apartment in the early morning… A middle school teacher arrested for assaulting a woman who was drunk and sleeping and stealing from her… Four years of “thick-skinned”
The crime took place before he left for a club tournament.
Are you all right?
A junior high school teacher approached a woman sitting in the corridor of her apartment, and when he realized that she was intoxicated, he had sexual intercourse with her without hesitation and stole cash. He then proceeded to the track meet of the track team he was advising with a nonchalant look on his face.
On November 6, 2013, Saitama Prefectural Police Investigation Section 1 arrested Hidenori Takei, 36, a junior high school teacher, on suspicion of semi-forcible sexual intercourse and theft. Takei said, “I had sexual intercourse with a woman who was drunk. I don’t know the exact amount, but I stole money. The victim, a woman in her 20s, had never met the defendant Takei.
On December 18, 2013, the Saitama Prefectural Board of Education announced that Takei had been dismissed from his position on disciplinary grounds for ‘seriously damaging public trust in educational officials.
On February 3, Takei’s first trial was held at Saitama District Court.
The indictment and opening statement read by the prosecutor at the trial revealed once again the details of Takei’s despicable crimes.
In the early morning of early June ’21, the defendant left his apartment on the second floor of the building where he lived in order to go to a prefectural track meet in which the students of the track team he advised at the junior high school where he worked were competing. When the defendant went down the stairs of the apartment, he found Mr. A sitting on the passageway on the first floor, drunk and sleeping. The defendant asked her if she was all right, but when he saw that she was unable to respond properly, he took advantage of her drunkenness and her inability to resist and engaged in sexual intercourse with her.
During the interrogation, Takei stated his motive as follows.
In the interrogation, Takei stated his motive as follows: “(Ms. A) reeked of alcohol and appeared to be about to vomit during the exchange, so I knew she was in a drunken state and unable to resist. Knowing that he was drunk and incapable of making normal decisions heightened his sexual desire and led him to commit the crime.”
He had been teaching for four years without a care in the world.
The night before the incident occurred, it was payday at the restaurant where Mr. A worked. After work, Mr. A went with a friend to a restaurant owned by an acquaintance for drinks, where they drank too much. He took a cab home, but he could not find his key and was having trouble getting into his room. Then someone came down from upstairs and said, “What’s wrong? Are you okay?” Is it the delivery man? Is it the delivery man?” but her recollection of what happened after that is vague.
Later, when she woke up at home, she found that the only thing in her paycheck bag was her pay stub, and she realized that she had been robbed. He also thought he might have been sexually assaulted because his clothes were in disarray, so he filed a report with the police, which led to the discovery of the incident.
The police investigated and found that the security camera on the intercom at Ms. A’s house clearly showed Takei ringing the intercom before the crime and confirming that no one was in the room.
During the interrogation, Takei admitted to pocketing the bills that had fallen on the floor next to Mr. A, and then stealing the approximately 600,000 yen that was in his bag.
He stated that he hid the stolen money in his car so that his wife would not find it. I spent all of it buying clothes and other things I liked, and using it in a brothel.
Takei, who admitted at trial that there was no doubt about it, had been teaching at the junior high school for about four years before his arrest, even after committing the two crimes of quasi-forcible sexual intercourse and theft.
Did he not feel guilty about teaching children after committing such despicable crimes as forcibly engaging in sexual intercourse with a woman who was drunk and sleeping, and even taking her money? Or, did he think he would not be arrested, and was enjoying his “extra income” of about 600,000 yen?
It remains to be seen what Takei will say in court.
