Last October, a drama was being filmed in a town on the outskirts of Tokyo. The old apartment where the drama was set was lined with filming equipment, and a large number of staff members were preparing for the shoot. A short time later, two “handsome men” in black suits appeared. They walked up the stairs of the apartment and stood in the open corridor. They posed for the camera ……. They are actors Masaki Okada (36) and Shota Sometani (33).

On that day, they were filming for the April season Friday drama “Tasen Brothers” (TBS).

On January 20, the production & cast of the drama was announced. It is a crime suspense drama about brothers whose parents’ murder case remains unsolved until two days before the statute of limitations on murder cases is abolished, and they continue to pursue the truth in order to bring the case to justice themselves. The script is a completely original story written by Kei Watanabe, formerly of the comedy duo “Great Chicken Powers” (disbanded in ’05). Okada plays the lead role of Makoto Tagusari, a detective and his brother. Someya plays the younger brother, Tagusari Minoru, who is a coroner.

This is the sixth film in which Okada and Sometani have appeared together. Their first collaboration was in the 2007 drama “Gakusei Shokun! (TV Asahi) in 2007. (TV Asahi) in 2007. Since then, they have co-starred in such films as “Antokuinoinoichi” (released in 2011) and “The Strayer’s Chronicle” (released in 2003). The duo, who are known by both themselves and others, decided to re-team.

On the day of the shoot at the beginning of the film, the chemistry between the two was perfect. The two were posing with their hands in front of them as they lined up in the hallway of their apartment building, as if they were also shooting stills that day.
