<p><span class="strongInContent"> Last year, I was able to hold a public recording event for my podcast and meet the band I admire, 10-FEET, on their radio show. I was able to perform in a musical with the people I usually work with at the 20th anniversary event of the two members of &#8220;Chocolate Planet. I am the type of person who has a hard time praising myself, but I feel like, just a little bit, I have been recognized for who I am.&#8221;</span></p>
<p> With a warm smile familiar from her TV appearances, TV personality Shiori Sato (35) looked back on the year 2013.</p>

<p> Ten years have passed since she became sub-MC of &#8220;100 Million Great Questions! Laugh and Correct! (Nippon TV), &#8220;Ariyoshi&#8217;s Wall&#8221; (Nippon TV), where she is an assistant, and &#8220;King&#8217;s Brunch&#8221; (TBS), where she is the overall host. As a model by origin, she has also graced the pages of numerous fashion magazines, including &#8220;BAILA&#8221; (published by Shueisha) and &#8220;SPUR&#8221; (published by Shueisha).</p>
<p> One particularly memorable moment in &#8217;25, when she was able to praise herself for the first time, was a public recording of her podcast program, &#8220;Satoshi Oachieto Pepe &#8211; Gyoza on the Rice.</p>

<p><span class="strongInContent"> He said, &#8220;We held two sessions, one in June and the other in November, and the first one was held inside a train car of the &#8216;La View&#8217; express train that connects Tokyo to Saitama, with the help of Seibu Railway Company. <p><span class="strongInContent"> Neither event was announced on social networking sites. I didn&#8217;t announce either event on social networking sites because I wanted to get the people who usually enjoy the podcast to gather there. So I was worried about whether anyone would come, but hundreds of people showed up. I was really happy to be able to actually interact with the listeners and hear directly from them that they had a good time and that it cheered them up.&#8221;</span></p>
<p> Sato&#8217;s personality was reflected in the audience that gathered at the venue.</p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> Natsuko Yokozawa (35), who came as a guest, told me, &#8216;It&#8217;s not every day you have an event where all the guests are seated and waiting 15 minutes before the show starts. I am also the type of person who arrives 15 minutes before the appointed time for work or meeting friends, so I thought that people with similar sensibilities to myself had gathered there.</span></p>

<h3>There is Ariyoshi&#8217;s &#8220;breathing&#8221; that only I can understand.</h3>
<p> Sato has also established a firm position as a famous assistant. In &#8220;Laugh at me! and Hiroyuki Ariyoshi (51) in &#8220;Ariyoshi&#8217;s Wall. In fulfilling this major role, he says there is one thing he keeps in mind.</p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> Tokoro and Ariyoshi are both very kind people, but it is not always possible for guests and co-hosts to speak as they normally do during the show. I was so nervous at first that I couldn&#8217;t speak well. So I try to research the backgrounds and hobbies of the guests to create conversation starters and communicate with them before the show.</span></p>
<p><span class="strongInContent">There is a certain Ariyoshi-san&#8217;s &#8220;breathing&#8221; that only I can understand,&#8221;</span> Sato said.</p>

<p><span class="strongInContent"> Before the show, I have a casual conversation with Ariyoshi about things like, &#8216;The weather is nice today,&#8217; or &#8216;You went to a live concert yesterday,&#8217; and then we start recording. I have never been told what to do; it&#8217;s all very natural. So during the recording, I have been trying to learn how to say things like, &#8220;Ariyoshi is in front of me right now, so I should take a step back,&#8221; or when to say, &#8220;The wall is clear,&#8221; not by words but by feeling. I participate with the hope that I can be someone who can notice, as I do with the comedians&#8217; material.&#8221;</span></p>
<p> Since making his modeling debut in 2001 at the age of 11, Sato has built up a career spanning 25 years. Although she is now a seasoned veteran, she beams, &#8220;I still get nervous &#8230;&#8230; even on the programs I am allowed to appear on as a regular.</p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> Not just the day before, but from the moment I check my schedule in the schedule book, I start to get nervous (laughs). (Laughs.) I get even more anxious the first time I appear on a TV show, so I check what kind of comments will be used in what scenes, and I feel like the time I spend preparing in this way is a talisman.</span></p>

<p><span class="strongInContent"> I&#8217;m still nervous (laughs). I sometimes have trouble coming up with the right words and my mind goes blank, so I try to have a notebook with questions and answers written in anticipation of the interview.</span></p>
<p> When I am being asked a question, I look the reporter in the eye and give a ministerial response. When he speaks, he uses hand gestures and looks around him to make sure he is not biased toward the reporter alone. When asked why he is always so upbeat and positive during interviews, he answered after a short pause, &#8220;Because I have a lot of people who support me, my family, and my work.</p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> I want to see the smiles on the faces of my supporters, my family, and the staff. When people say they smile when they see me, I think, &#8216;It&#8217;s good that I&#8217;m here,&#8217; and I can work hard again.</span></p>

<h3>Refreshment is &#8220;standing up to eat</h3>
<p> One of his favorite pastimes, which he professes to enjoy, is &#8220;standing at a table&#8221; to take a break from his busy schedule.</p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> I still love to eat at a stand-up restaurant,&#8221; he says. Even if I am so busy that I only have 30 minutes to eat lunch, I want to eat something that satisfies me before going to my next job. Standing food is the only place that can fulfill that wish.</span></p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> Recently, I went to &#8220;Toyoharu&#8221; in Jimbocho (Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo), a stand-up buckwheat noodle restaurant that was very delicious!　The restaurant is famous for its &#8220;Paikasoba&#8221; which is made with pork belly cartilage. I have been on a standing-only eating tour recently, but I have been going to a certain restaurant more and more. So I was very happy to discover a new restaurant after a long absence. I love it so much that I want to go there even now (laughs).</span></p>

<p> Sato puts 100% enthusiasm into both his work and his meals. When asked about her aspirations for the 25th year of her career, she replied with a relaxed expression on her face.</p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> I want to repay my fans for all the support they have given me!　I want to hold an event where I can meet them face to face and express my gratitude to them directly. I&#8217;m looking for a venue right now, but I can&#8217;t get any reservations at all (laughs). I hope we can hold the event without a hitch!&#8221;</span></p>
<p> Even from inside a cab on his way to his next job after the interview, Sato rolled down the window, smiled at the reporter, and said, &#8220;Thank you very much!&#8221; and expressed his gratitude.</p>
<p> He always gives his all and never forgets to be considerate and appreciative of those around him. Her personality will continue to attract many people in 2014.</p>
