Masami Nagasawa’s Marriage Announcement Showcases Her Unmatched Beauty

Masami Nagasawa Talks About Her Ideal Husband
“On a personal note, I am very pleased to announce that I have recently married film director Soshi Fukunaga.”
Big news arrived on New Year’s Day.
On January 1, actress Masami Nagasawa (38) announced her marriage on her agency’s official website. She continued:
“We will cherish our daily life while supporting each other and aim to walk through life step by step. Though we are still inexperienced, we would be grateful if you could continue to watch over us warmly.”
She signed the message personally with her name, Masami Nagasawa.
Her partner, Soshi Fukunaga, is 43 years old. He moved to the U.S. in 2003 and has been active as a film director based in New York since then. His feature film debut, White Blood of Liberia (2015), depicted the struggles of a man forced to endure harsh labor on a rubber plantation in Liberia who moves alone to America and faces inner conflict.
The film was officially selected for the Panorama section of the Berlin International Film Festival and received high praise. Since 2024, Fukunaga has directed episode 7 of the Disney+ series SHOGUN, starring Hiroyuki Sanada (65), which won an Emmy, earning him recognition overseas. (Film journalist)
Although Nagasawa has appeared in many films, her overseas work is limited to the Taiwanese drama Chocolat (2013) and the Chinese film The Crossing (2014, directed by John Woo). Her connection with Fukunaga, who mainly works abroad, has not yet been made public.
Social media quickly filled with congratulatory messages. Yet no one had predicted that this year’s traditional New Year celebrity marriage announcement would be Nagasawa, leading to comments such as:
“Can’t believe the year starts with Masami Nagasawa shock.”
“Wow! What is this sense of loss?”
Nagasawa has previously spoken about her ideal marriage:
“Being a couple that’s always happy together would be ideal, but I think that’s impossible (laughs). I’d like a relationship more like friends—someone I can talk to about anything, enjoy hobbies with, and simply have fun together. That’s my ideal.” (CLEA, March 29, 2025)
Over the years, Friday has reported on Nagasawa’s private life and event appearances, including scenes of her enjoying meals with men. But what always captured attention most was her overwhelming beauty and figure. Particularly in her 30s, her refined, stylish elegance became even more striking.
Let us look back at Nagasawa’s journey through images and celebrate this wonderful news. Wishing her lasting happiness.
