Ai Fukuhara smiles and confesses her second marriage and pregnancy after a long absence! Ai’s happy pictures as seen by this magazine.
It’s been a while since she showed her “Ai-chan” smile.
Married life might work out well with A-san.
Ai Fukuhara (37), the “idol of the table tennis world,” confessed her second marriage and pregnancy in an exclusive interview with “Josei Seven Plus” on December 22, 2013.
According to the article, the Mr. A to whom Fukuhara remarried is the same man whom the magazine reported in 2009 as having “a three-day, two-night stay back home affair.
In September 2004, after the Rio Olympics, Fukuhara married Taiwanese table tennis player Chiang Hung-Chieh (37), and in October 2006 she announced her retirement.
Her marriage to Jiang did not last long, and in 2008 they decided to divorce. She established her own company and temporarily returned to Japan to complete the necessary procedures and to prepare for her future life in Japan. In February 2009, she was reported to have gone on a three-day, two-night date with Mr. A. Mr. A was a graduate of Waseda University and a major trading company employee, and although Fukuhara explained that he was “one of my good friends,” the report shocked the public to the extent that it lowered Fukuhara’s high level of favorable perception. This report shocked the public to the extent that Fukuhara’s high level of favorability was dramatically lowered.
In July 2009, Fukuhara and Jiang divorced, but this time Fukuhara was criminally prosecuted over custody of their children. Eventually, in March ’24, they reached a settlement to maintain joint custody, but Fukuhara rarely appears in the Japanese media with a smile on her face as she once did.
In an interview, Fukuhara said,
First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize again for the trouble I have caused to so many people in my business, Mr. A’s family and the people around him, and his family ……. I am very sorry.
I would like to take this opportunity to apologize again. She then married Mr. A, as she stated at the beginning of the article. About her current life,
I think we have a relationship where we can talk honestly with each other and listen carefully to what the other has to say. In our casual everyday life, he buys me ice cream at the convenience store and says, “Thirty-One has just released a new product. It’s these daily acts of kindness that keep me going.
And so on. During the interview, Fukuhara had a gentle smile on her face as she placed her hands on her big belly as if supporting it. It was the smile of the “Ai-chan” we know so well.
A smile overflowing with happiness shown at his retirement press conference
The first time this magazine saw Fukuhara’s smile in private was in 2008. Fukuhara, then 20 years old, was enjoying a date in Harajuku with 18-year-old tennis player Kei Nishikori (35). They were so in love that they looked at each other, laughed, and shared a passionate kiss on the Yamanote Line platform.
At her retirement press conference in October 2006, she was asked about her married life,
She replied, “My husband Chiang Hung-Chieh has been really good to me, and we live very happily.
I am very happy with my only daughter,
I want to keep it a secret that I used to be a player. I want to go to a hot spring ping-pong tournament and be told, ‘How can you do that, Mom?
She was smiling and full of happiness. Fukuhara is blessed with new happiness of remarriage and pregnancy. Next year, we may have more opportunities to see her smile on TV.
