Teacher Under Investigation for Sending Disturbing Papa-Katsu Messages to Female Students

“Personally, I have a small request: please bring your school uniform, gym clothes, and short-sleeved shorts. I would also like to record during the act.”
A junior high school teacher in Niigata Prefecture, who was looking for girls for papa-katsu via social media, reportedly sent this message to high school student A (15 at the time). “Petit” apparently means that sexual intercourse is not involved.
“On October 15, 2025, the Omiya Nishi Police Station in Saitama Prefecture arrested Gaku Nakamura (36), a defendant working at a public junior high school in Niigata Prefecture, on suspicion of non-consensual sexual acts and other charges. Nakamura is suspected of having promised to give money to A in June this year and then engaging in sexual acts, recording the acts on video. In addition, he was re-arrested on November 4 for committing similar acts with junior high school student B (13 at the time) in August of last year, also on suspicion of non-consensual sexual acts” (reporter from a national newspaper’s social affairs department).
The case was triggered in August 2023 when the Omiya Nishi Police Station received a report from the mother of another teenage girl living in Saitama Prefecture that my daughter is meeting strangers and receiving money.
“During the investigation, Nakamura came under suspicion. When police conducted a search of his home, multiple sexual images and videos of girls were found on Nakamura’s smartphone, which led to the discovery of the case. The police analyzed the images and videos stored on Nakamura’s phone to identify the victims. On September 25, he was arrested and indicted for non-consensual sexual acts and other charges against junior high school student C in Kanagawa Prefecture. After that, he was arrested in connection with A and B.”
Nakamura reportedly admitted the allegations, saying, “It’s true. I was under work-related stress” (same source).
On December 22, Nakamura’s first trial was held at the Saitama District Court. In this trial, he faces four charges, including non-consensual sexual acts and filming sexual acts of A and B, violations of the Child Pornography Prohibition Law, and requesting to meet with a person under 16 years old (A).
“If you meet me, I’ll give you plenty of support”
After graduating from graduate school, defendant Nakamura worked as a public middle school teacher. Around 2023, he began engaging in so-called “papa-katsu,” arranging to give money to junior high and high school girls he met via SNS in exchange for sexual acts.
What became clear from the indictment read by the prosecutor and the opening statement was Nakamura’s despicable crime of enticing girls with money and demanding sexual acts.
“The defendant met A through SNS while looking for a ‘papa-katsu’ partner and began exchanging messages using Instagram’s direct message function. Between June 9 and 15, the defendant sent messages to A such as ‘I want to see you. Is 4.5 okay?’ and demanded meetings in exchange for money, arranging to give 45,000 yen in return for sexual acts.
Then, on June 15, after meeting at a station in Tokyo, he engaged in sexual acts at a nearby hotel and recorded videos and photos on his smartphone.”
“The defendant also met B through SNS and proposed that he would provide money in exchange for sexual acts. He arranged to meet B, and on August 22 of last year, engaged in sexual acts at a hotel in Tokyo, recording videos and photos on his smartphone.”
Middle school teacher Nakamura apparently spent much of his time at home searching SNS accounts that appeared to belong to junior high and high school girls and trying to contact them.
During questioning, A recalled what it was like when Nakamura contacted her:
“Around March this year, I received a DM on my Instagram account asking, ‘Are you short on money?’ The perpetrator contacted me for the purpose of compensated dating, but I didn’t intend to do it at first, so I refused once. However, he kept contacting me persistently, saying, ‘If you meet me, I’ll give you plenty of support,’ repeatedly suggesting compensated dating.
He wanted a petit arrangement, meaning no sexual intercourse, and requested that I bring my high school uniform or middle school gym clothes. He said that if the acts were recorded, he would pay extra. Honestly, I was worried about the recordings being leaked, but since he was giving me a lot of money, I agreed on the condition that they would not be leaked.”
However, just before the meeting, A became uneasy and canceled once. Even after this sudden cancellation, defendant Nakamura continued sending messages saying, “I want to meet,” and on June 15, he met A. At the hotel, he engaged in sexual acts and recorded videos and photos.
“I remember being very excited.”
At the end of the interrogation, A-san expressed this reflection while also showing her anger toward Defendant Nakamura.
“I engaged in compensated dating because I wanted money to have fun, and I gave in to the perpetrator’s sweet temptations. Looking back now, I realize it was dangerous, and I regret it. People like this perpetrator, who flaunt money to satisfy their sexual desires and exploit minors, should go to prison.”
Meanwhile, B-san stated that she had been doing “papa-katsu” at the time she met Defendant Nakamura. During interrogation, she described the events as follows:
“I was doing papa-katsu over a year ago. I think the interactions started when I received a DM from an older man (Defendant Nakamura) on my X account (formerly Twitter). He contacted me for the purpose of papa-katsu from the start, so we quickly discussed the conditions. I remember he said he would pay more if I agreed to be photographed.
I did papa-katsu because I wanted money to have fun, but now I realize it was dangerous, and I regret it. I worry that my sexual images or videos might leak, so I want them deleted. I also hope the perpetrator doesn’t repeat the same actions with others.”
Defendant Nakamura has admitted to all charges, saying, “That is correct.”
During the interrogation, he described his actions with A-san as follows:
“I had her change into her uniform or gym clothes and perform sexual acts in the outfits I preferred. I remember being very excited. I intended to preserve what I experienced as images and videos to look back on later.
If the police had not seized them, I would have kept them as a collection indefinitely.”
While instructing students at school, Defendant Nakamura sought out girls of the same age online as an outlet for his desires. What, one wonders, was going through his mind while standing at the podium?
Further indictments are expected to follow.
