A little after 8:30 p.m. in early November, a cold wind was blowing and a man was standing on a bridge over the Sumida River, Meguro Ren (28) of the nine-member idol group “Snow Man. The lights of the Tokyo Skytree twinkled in the night sky. Meguro is currently starring in the popular drama “The Royal Family” (TBS). She plays an illegitimate son of a horse owner played by Koichi Sato (64), and plays an important role that holds the key to the story.

Meguro was the focus of attention in the dramas “Kyobo II” (Fuji TV) and the morning drama “Soar! (NHK), but it was his performance in the drama “silent” (Fuji Television) that really made his mark as an actor. His first movie, “My Happy Marriage,” in which he played the lead role, was also a hit. Among the young idols of the former Johnny’s, he is especially highly regarded for his ability to express himself.

In the meantime, Hiroyuki Sanada (65) has been cast in “Shogun Shogun” Season 2, in which he plays the lead role. He announced a temporary pause in the group’s activities after the “Snow Man” 5-dome tour held from the 15th of this month. Meguro was to take the first step toward full-fledged global expansion.
