Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas Split After Wedding Imminent Rumors — Work May Have Come First

Until just recently, Tom Cruise (63) and Ana de Armas (37) were rumored to be on the verge of marriage—but now, reports say the couple has broken up.

The romance rumors first surfaced in February, when the two were spotted having dinner together in London. They were seen on multiple dates afterward, and in July, they made their relationship public by holding hands in front of paparazzi. Reports even claimed Tom was house-hunting for a new mansion on the outskirts of London and had begun preparing a prenup, fueling talk of an imminent wedding.

However, everything seems to have taken a sudden turn. The breakup was first reported on October 15 (local time) by The Sun (UK). According to sources close to the couple:

“Tom and Ana had a great time together, but their time as a couple has come to an end. They plan to remain good friends, but they are no longer dating.”

Another insider added:

“They realized it wasn’t going to last and decided it was better to stay friends.”

Tom, who appeared to be heading straight toward a fourth marriage, seems to have had his romantic flame burn out.

Following The Sun’s scoop, several U.S. outlets — including the New York Post — picked up the story, citing the same insider comments.

A Hollywood insider explained:

“Reading between the lines of those it’s over statements, it seems that while marriage may have been in sight, the timing just wasn’t right for either of them. Both are extremely busy with new film projects, and in order to protect their professional standing, they likely decided that returning to friendship was the wiser choice.”

Tom has had a packed and highly successful year. His latest film, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, released in May, became a major box office hit. This fall, he’s set to begin filming Judy in November — a much-anticipated collaboration with Alejandro González Iñárritu, the acclaimed director who won back-to-back Academy Awards for Birdman (2014) and The Revenant (2015).

In addition, Tom is juggling several other high-profile projects, including the upcoming Top Gun 3, a new film with longtime collaborator Christopher McQuarrie, and an outer-space adventure directed by Doug Liman.

Meanwhile, Ana de Armas continues to shine as one of Hollywood’s leading stars. After earning an Oscar nomination for Best Actress for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in Blonde (2022), she now headlines Ballerina: The World of John Wick (2025). She’s also set to co-star with Tom in the deep-sea thriller Deeper and reportedly has a flood of offers for upcoming roles.

According to the Daily Mail, on October 12, Ana was spotted at a Santa Monica gym with Top Gun: Maverick co-star Miles Teller (38). Miles, however, is married to model Keleigh Sperry, and the two are said to be just friends.

In September, Ana was seen in her hometown of Puerto Rico, where she attended a party with rapper Bad Bunny and shared photos and videos on Instagram, captioned:

“I don’t want to leave Puerto Rico. What beautiful days these have been.”

Just last week, she posted pictures of herself strolling through the streets of Paris with two friends — snapshots that seem to suggest she’s fully enjoying single life.

Both stars have storied romantic histories. Born in Syracuse, New York, Tom Cruise has been married and divorced three times — to Mimi Rogers, Nicole Kidman, and Katie Holmes — and has also dated Melissa Gilbert and Rebecca De Mornay, among others.

Ana de Armas, originally from Cuba, moved to Madrid at 18 and later relocated to Los Angeles, where she launched her Hollywood career. She married Spanish actor Marc Clotet in 2011 but divorced in 2013, later dating Spanish director David Victori. In 2020, she began a high-profile relationship with Ben Affleck (53) after co-starring in Deep Water, but the two split in 2021.

Now, after roughly nine months together, Tom and Ana’s relationship, too, has joined the list of their past romances. With both being A-list megastars, the world will no doubt be watching closely to see who each of them dates next.
